"Hey, is it okay if Nadia and Evelyn come over this weekend for my birthday party at your place, Brooke?" Abby asked, chewing her lip nervously.
"Why? Are you suddenly friends with them?" I asked, curiously. I was surprised she wanted to invite Nadia and Evelyn because she wasn't really friends with them. I wouldn't have expected her to invite Jameson's ex girlfriend considering she cheated on him.
She shook her head as she grabbed a pack of Coke cans off the shelf for the party. We were currently shopping for supplies for her party. My parents would be out of town for the weekend so it was the perfect time to throw the party.
"Jameson said Nadia and him agreed to be friends to not make things awkward for their friend group so he felt like it would be awkward to not include them this weekend," She explained, shrugging her shoulders.
"But what do you think? It's for your birthday and you don't even like them," I told her, not wanting her to agree to something she didn't want. It was her special day so I didn't want anything to ruin it. I had already picked out the perfect gift for her. Abby loved her jewelry so I bought her a pair of beautiful Topaz earrings because of her November birth stone.
"I think I'm fine with it as long as things aren't awkward," she replied. "Besides, Andre and Drake might not come if it's just the boys because you guys don't know each other that well. Plus the whole situation with Drake and Stacey. But it's honestly up to you because you're offering your house for the weekend."
"I'm fine with it as long as you're fine with it," I said, grabbing some disposable plates and cups for the party. I wanted an easy clean up after and dishes would've made things harder.
I honestly couldn't care less about whether or not Nadia and Evelyn were there. It's not like I was ever close with them. Plus, Nadia was a bitch to me so I kind of wanted to flirt a little with Jameson to rub it in her face.
Even if Jameson wasn't interested in me. I just wanted to see the look on her face.
"Okay, I'll text Jameson to invite everyone then."

"Guys, this is Jonah," Andrea introduced her boyfriend. She was clutching onto his arm as they both walked together into my house. I had told my friends to come earlier to help me set up and so that I wasn't just alone with Jameson's friend group if they decided to show up early.
This was the first time we formally got to meet Jonah. We all knew of him because he went to the same school as us but we never actually had conversations with him. We saw him a few times at parties with Andrea too.
Jonah waved at us shyly, giving us a small smile. "It's nice to meet you guys, finally."
"Oh hey Jonah!" Abby greeted, giving him a quick side hug.
"You guys know each other?" Andrea asked, her eyes widened slightly.
"I was in the Mathletes for a bit," Abby shrugged like it was no big deal.
