Abby: Andre asked me to Winter Ball!
Her text was accompanied by a few pictures of the two of them smiling at the camera. There was a cute candlelit set up at his apartment and he had a small poster in his hands.
Aww, they looked kind of cute together.
Me: Omigod you guys look so cute! I forgot to tell you guys but Jameson asked me to the dance too.
Andrea: Ahhhhhh that's so exciting guys. Are we all finally going with someone we like? Usually it's just Hayes and Brooklyn that go together and we all go with a random guy as friends.
Stacey: Except for me :(
Abby: It's okay. Lance is hot and interested in you.
I assumed Lance was Jonah's friend that Andrea set Stacey up with for Winter Ball. This was all very exciting because I was actually going with someone that I really liked. I mean I had really liked Hayes but the past few dances we've been to together, we were fighting because I had found out he cheated like a few days before.
Stacey: You're so right. Drake who?
Andrea: That's the spirit. You guys available to go dress shopping today?
We all agreed in the group chat that today was the best day to go dress shopping because it was the only day that we were all free. We planned on going later today and get dinner afterwards at the mall. I was excited to hang out with my girls again.
"Do you have plans today? It seems like you're always busy," Dad asked once I went downstairs. He was sitting on the couch with Mom and I think they were watching a Christmas movie already.
"Going dress shopping for Winter Ball with the girls," I told them, plopping down on the couch next to them. They were watching Elf.
"Do you have a date?" Mom asked, raising an eyebrow at me.
I hesitated telling them who I was going with because they would ask questions. Especially about why I wasn't going with Ace.
"Jameson," I shrugged, keeping my attention on the tv. I didn't wanna see their reactions.
"Why not Ace? Aren't you guys dating?" My dad asked. I resisted the urge to roll my eyes. I knew I should just tell him but I felt like it might taint his view on Ace and I didn't want that sort of tension between Dad and Marcel.
I shrugged. "I think he's busy that day," I lied. "Why are you guys watching a Christmas movie. Isn't it too early for that?"
"It's never too early. Plus it's November and Christmas is next month so really, we're late," Dad responded, wrapping his arm around my mom's shoulders. They looked cozy.
"Whatever you say," I snorted. "Where's Izzy?"
"She's at her friend's place. They are all having a sleepover tonight," Mom answered.
