"I haven't been to the lake in so long," Andrea gushed, excitedly. We were on our way to Camp Silverlake which was about a 2-3 hour drive away.
During the summer time, there was a summer camp at the lake for 2 months but during other months, it was free to go to for the public.
"I know, I can't wait to tan," Stacey sighed happily. Stacey was driving and Andrea was sitting in the passenger seat. Abby and I were in the back. This is one of the few times that we didn't have Henry driving us around.
We were going to lake with Jameson, Jonah, Andre, and Drake but they drove separately.
Poor Jonah, he had nothing in common with the other boys.
"Omigod you won't believe it, Brooke," Stacey exclaimed suddenly. "I was talking to the girls in our squad and Jade is freaking out."
Jade, the girl Hayes cheated on me with.
"Why, what happened?" My interest was slightly piqued.
"Turns out, Bridgette has set her targets on another taken man. She's been going after Hayes and it's working," Stacey grinned. I could see her face in the rearview mirror.
"Karma," Andrea sang, leaning back in her chair. She propped her legs onto the dashboard.
"That's kind of a poetic ending," Abby muttered, staring out the window.
"As long as she's not trying to home wreck my relationship, I don't care what she does," I added, side eyeing Abby. She seemed down lately and I wasn't sure why. I had a feeling it had something to do with Andre.
I decided not to push her on the topic because if she wanted us to know, she would've told us.
"Oh yeah, did you guys hear that Hayden and Chloe broke up?" Andrea brought up. I looked in the rear view mirror to see Stacey smirking slightly.
I vaguely remember my friends telling me that Hayden Carter, the known player and "bad boy" of our school, had gotten a girlfriend. Chloe was on our cheerleading squad but I never really talked to her much.
"What happened?" I asked.
"Rumor has it that she actually broke up with him," Andrea snorted.
"Yeah right," Stacey muttered.
After taking a mini nap during the car ride, we finally arrived at the lake. The boys had already arrived and were setting up the lawn chairs and picnic table.
