I felt nervous on my way to Nadia's apartment. I hadn't talked to her since the iceskating day so I didn't know how she would react to what I was going to tell her.
I was glad everyone else would be there to hopefully back me up if things got messy.
I knew it was something I had to do though. I needed to set up this boundary with her because of what she did. If that had never happened, I think it would've been fine to still stay friends with her.
Once I arrived at their apartment, I grabbed the key under the mat to unlock the door. When I entered, I was greeted by smiles and "hello's."
"Jameson! You're back," Evelyn cheered, glancing over at Nadia with a grin on her face. Nadia's smile grew larger when she saw me.
Oh, I guess they thought this would be a different kind of conversation.
"Hey guys," I greeted, taking a seat next to Drake on the couch.
"Glad to have you back, brother," Drake said, doing the "bro" shake with me.
"I won't be here long," I told him. "Nadia, do you wanna go talk?"
She nodded, the corners of her mouth quirked upward.
Oh shit, she probably thought we were getting back together.
"So what did you wanna talk about?" Nadia asked in a sultry voice. She took off the jacket she was wearing and she had on only a thin tank top underneath.
I shifted on my feet uncomfortably at how she was acting. "I wanted to talk about everything that went down at the iceskating rink."
"Oh yeah. About how I kissed you," she smirked. "I still love you Jameson. I wanna get back together in case you didn't figure that out already."
"If you loved me you wouldn't have cheated on me," I deadpanned. "But that's beside the point. I'm dating Brooklyn now so you can't just randomly kiss me. It's disrespectful to my girlfriend and to me. It seems like you think my relationship is a joke which is why I can't be your friend anymore."
Nadia seemed surprised at my statement. "What? Jameson? You can't do that! I know you still love me too. Please, I'll be better. What happened was a mistake and I want you back."
I shook my head. "I don't love you anymore and I don't know if I ever did. I'm with Brooklyn now and I love her."
Oh shit, I admitted that out loud. The thought had lingered in the back of my mind but as I finally voiced those thoughts, my feelings were solidified.
