Morro was regretting not trying to pickpocket one of Wu's guards before they had disappeared in the smoke cloud. He could have stolen a dagger, for better protection while looking for Lloyd. He usually carried his blade around, but it had been confiscated when he was locked up in that dungeon. He slowly made his way around, fucking behind every wall and tree he passed, just in case someone had been lurking around. Morro didn't think he would be in the desolated parts of town, rather in the more populated areas. Or worse, inside the castle walls. He prayed that wasn't the case.
As he got closer and deeper into the town, he could start to hear chatter, and footsteps of people. Walking all about it town. Morro lurked in an alley, taking a peak around the corner, seeing the blacksmith opening his shop earlier than he remembered. A blade could do him good. Problem was, Morro didn't have any money on him. And all he has was already confiscated. He then ripped off the patch from his cloak, throwing the hood up over his head. Morro took a deep breath, before stepping out of the alley way, and into the, now crowded, street. He continue to hope no one recognizes even a little bit of him.
He walked up to the blacksmith shop, meeting his eyes. "What can I do ya' for?" The blacksmith seemed very chippy today, hair and beard done nice. Held a smile on his face.
"I don't have any coin on me," Morro hesitantly looked around the crowd with his eyes. "Do you by any chance do trade?"
"That depends what you want, and what you're offering."
"The King's army patch," Morro places the ripped patch on the counter. "A rare unique patch made for one of the best soldier the kings ever had. The most courageous man in the field. Sewed with the kings mark himself."
The man's jaw dropped, seeing the patch on the counter. He picked it up, looking at it in awe. "Where'd you get this!? A sewed mark by the king himself! Do you know how valuable this is in this day and age!? He doesn't mark them anymore! This is worth a small fortune! You should take this to the bank, kid!"
"No, I don't need it. You can cash it in." Morro now turned all his attention to the man.
The blacksmith pocketed the patch. "S-so what do you want? I have the finest swords in all the kingdom! Lightweight, fast, and durable, or do you prefer something with a heavier attack, like an axe, or a battle hammer-"
"A dagger. You're sharpest dagger . . . Maybe a sword as well, if I could get a holster for it. Two actually, two swords, two holsters." Morro taught about if he found Lloyd, no when he found him, he would need a sword as well, just in case of an daring escape.
"Ah, double welding, I like it!" The blacksmith turns around, looking through his set of already made weapons.
As Morro waits, he once again looks around at every person that passes by with his eyes, hanging his head low. Do you know who I am? He asked to himself as soon as someone glanced at him for even a second. He tried to stand there, casually. Surely no one who question a hooded man right outside of a weapons shop. After a long moment, the blacksmith laid the items Morro requested on the counter. "I estimated how big of a holster you need, if it's not the right fit, I'll look again, just for you."
Morro was starting to get a little annoyed by how nice he was being to him. He'd expected him to just grab any holster and that's that. Maybe some people here can change? No, no, it's just the "money" you have him, that's why he's being so nice to you. Morro put on both the holsters, for now, sliding the swords in place. Then he took the dagger, putting it the the holster he already had which was under his pants sleeve that met his boot. "Thanks" Morro turned around and started walking away.
"No, thank you!" The blacksmith called back.
Another chill down Morro's spine as someone was actually nice to him. People in this town are usually rude, and cold. Selfish humans, who would steal if the punishment here wasn't so brutal. Hell, people still steal here anyway. A lot of people do what they have to do out here to survive. You'd be fortunate to be able to live inside the walls, where the real luxury is. Morro scoffed at his own thought. Fortunate? Please, the luxury is just a way of manipulation.
Morro was about to slip into another alley way when something caught his attention in the corner of his eye. He stopped by the sides of the store walls, not being in anyone's way as they walked by. He turned his head, looking at a group of thugs, laughing and throwing items on the ground at a merchants stand. No one else even batted an eye in their direction, letting them do their thing. But for some reason, some odd reason, Morro felt inclined to step in. Inclined to help the poor merchant just trying to get by. Some low level thugs messing with people!? Morro started to angrily stomp in their direction. Let's see how the face off with a royal- ex-royal guard.
"Hey!" Morro growled, getting their attention. "What exactly do you think you're doing messing with this person's belongings? Are you here to buy things? I didn't think so. I would scram before you really regret this."
The thugs looked at one another and began laughing. The tallest one stepped out from the rest. "And what are you going to do about it? You think you can play hero? It's three against one, and more of our boys are on the way. So how about you scram before you regret this?"
"I never turn down a fight," Morro placed his hand on the hilt of his sword.
The thugs began pulling out all kinds of daggers and knives. The tallest one then put a hand out in front of the other two. "Here he comes, how about we let the new recruit take care of this one? Test his skills?" He looked over the crowd. "Gord! Get over here!"
Morro looked over, seeing this "Gord" person hustle up to them. They locked eyes, and Morro's face softened. "Lloyd?"
