Morro snapped his fingers in front of Lloyd's face. "Hello? Earth to Lloyd."
Lloyd snapped out of it, meeting Morro's eyes. His face was basically a tomato by this point. "I- uh you- I, um-"
"Why would you just approach some random group of thugs, and do that Lloyd!? That's dangerous, especially around here! You could have gotten in so much more danger than you did. You don't do that around here!"
Lloyd took a second to gather his thoughts. So, we didn't kiss? Oh God, that was my imagination, stupid Lloyd! That never happened. "I'm . . . Sorry?"
"Most of the time, sorry doesn't cut it. I just want to keep you safe. We are in very dangerous territory right now," Morro tried not to sound so aggressive because he didn't want to spook Lloyd.
"You're sounding a lot like Wu right now."
Morro paused, taking a second to relax himself. He took a deep breath in, then another one out. "Okay . . . Where's this food that you totally didn't 'steal'."
"I didn't, they said I can have it." Lloyd began walking, having Morro follow. "I don't know if I just haven't seen it yet, but all the stories Wu and you told me, I just don't seem to notice anything at all. Everyone here seems chill."
"That's because you always want to see the best in people. Trust me, it gets worse. A better excuse to get out of here before you see it for yourself."
"Do you want to eat or not?"
Morro folded his arms, meeting Lloyd's eyes. Lloyd smiled and motioned Morro to follow him. "That's what I thought."
They walked through alleyways and not on the main street till they got back to Morro's old childhood home. "How'd you manage to being everything back here and be caught up with all that . . . Mischief?"
"When I brought it back, you were still asleep," Lloyd pointed at a basket that was sitting in front of a dresser. ". . . And I may admit, I got kind of bored . . . Wanted to live a little with mt new 'friends'."
Morro stopped himself from scolding Lloyd again. Seeing Lloyd upset back there when he told him he was sounding like Wu made him think before he said things like that. In all honesty, he was starting to dislike seeing Lloyd upset. A friend for a short period of time and he was already getting attached to this blonde boy. This blonde boy that he now brought into chaos. "Okay, sure. Let's see what you've got."
Lloyd excitedly picked up the basket, taking a seat on Morro's bed, patting the spot next to him, singling for Morro to sit next to him. Morro did so, and Lloyd opened the lid to the basket. "Most of it is just a bunch of fruits and veggies. Some bread." He gave Morro an assortment of foods.
Morro examined each piece he was given, surprised that they weren't that bad damaged or ruined. He took a bite out of an apple after wiping it in his sleeve. Lloyd started to giggle and blush. "It's like we're on a date."
"Hm? Like we're on what?"
Lloyd's eyes grew wide, realizing what he just said. "I- uh. I said, it's like we're on a picnic!"
That had made Morro smile a bit. "Just without the jams, and pies, and what not."
"Mhm," Lloyd continued to blush, having the his face look like a tomato once again. "My friend, Zane, he makes the best pies. I'd kill for on of those right now."
In Lloyd's mins, he was definitely counting this as a date. They laughed and exchanged stories as they ate. Lloyd telling Morro about all his friends, and all their quirks. Morro sharing his stories what it's like to fight for the king. Cracking up puns and jokes as they go along. Once they had their full, the put the basket back against the dresser. "You know Lloyd, I was thinking back to what you said earlier. About the whole 'being better with a sword' stuff. I got you a sword so . . . Wanna parley?"
Lloyd scoffed. "In this enclosed space? There wouldn't be any space."
Morro got up from off the bed. "Who said anything about it happening in here? We can go to the clearing, see the truth in your word."
Lloyd was hesitant to agree, but he got up anyways. Surely you can muster up some luck to act like you know what you're doing. Lloyd thought to himself. Yeah, I'm a quick learner, I got this. And maybe I can impress Morro with my new profound skills. He started smiling uncontrollably.
They walked a little ways from the town until they got to a big open clearing. They took their placing, and Morro placed his hand on the hilt of his sword. "You ready?"
Lloyd kept thinking of excuses not to fight Morro, but none was coming to mind. He nervously grabbed his sword. "Yeah!"
Before they drew their swords from its holsters, a group of armed dark knights came out of the treeline and bushes, surrounding the two. They had their swords pointed all around them. "Halt!"
