Lloyd had made a break for the tree line, still hearing the clattering of metal behind him. He also heard a "swauk" as he looked up seeing a falcon flying above him. Not any falcon. It was Zane's falcon. A moments notice the sound of an arrow flying through the air sprung out. Lloyd took a look behind him, seeing an arrow hitting on of the knights directly in the face, sending them falling to the ground. More rapid fire of arrows came flying in as the ones who were lucky enough quickly hid behind the trees and boulders. Lloyd kept running, looking in the trees until he passed it. The one where Zane was pearched, holding his aim where the knights were.
"Lloyd, there you are. Are you okay?" Zane didn't break his line of sight on where the knights were hiding as he spoke to the prince.
"As okay as I could be right now," Now that Lloyd had stopped running, some of his wounds started to sting.
"What did you think was going to happen if you came out here? Wu advised you so many times to stay in the castle."
"Zane, let's not argue about that part right now. Can we just make our escape?"
Zane lowered his bow, still looking at the same spot. Then he jumped off the branch, wasting no time to run a random way, breaking the sight of the knights. Lloyd tried to keep up as much as he can. "Zane-" Lloyd gritted his teeth.
Zane immediately stopped, turning around to look at Lloyd. "Yes?"
"I don't know if I can run all that way like this."
Without a warning, Zane picked Lloyd up, throwing the prince over his shoulder. He then continued along. Lloyd was now feeling a little light headed. "Do you even know where you're going?"
"Yes. I took a mental note of the land when venturing out here to find you."
"How'd you even find this place? How'd you even find me?"
"I didn't," Zane looked up. "My falcon did."
"That's a-" Lloyd groaned. "-well trained bird."
"You always did want to see us in action. Now you have."
Zane ran for what felt like forever until they got to a small structure that was some distant away from the city. It was what appeared to be a weathered stone wall with only three of its four sides still standing. Zane had left his horse there, resting before continuing looking for Lloyd on foot. He gently sat the prince onto the horse before hopping up himself. "Grab as tight as you can. We're hightailing it out of here."
Lloyd wrapped his arms around Zane's waist, holding as securely as he could. With one yank at the straps, the horse began galloping away. As they went, the forest and nature around them started to become more pigmented, the perception of life being brought out around them. That's when they knew they were finally out of the "dark zone". While Lloyd rode with Zane, at the back of his head he kept thinking of Morro. His heart felt like it had cracked into a billion pieces knowing his true intended. Trying to play both sides. Lloyd sure wasn't going to be cheated like that.
It was some time into the next day where they got back to the castle. Rode all night to get back safely. Once at the front gate, Zane got off the horse, grabbing a tired Lloyd off, and carried him. The guards let them in, and Zane headed up to the med Bay since Lloyd still had pieces of glass pricked in him. Lloyd had fallen asleep by the time they even got inside. Zane gently laid the prince on one of the beds in the med Bay, being approached by a doctor. He made light conversation with them, keeping Lloyd company, even though Lloyd was passed out, until the doctor was done.
Once Lloyd was in good hands, Zane had left to go rest. It was the next day, where Lloyd slowly opened his eyes, having instant confusion by his surroundings. He looked under the covers at his body, seeing bandages every here and there. He was still in his clothes, but could see the bandages through tears in the clothing. He then looked up around the room, seeing no one there with him. Lloyd takes a careful stretched before slowly sitting up, and planting his feet on the cold floor. His wounds still stinged, but they were manageable.
Lloyd hobbled his way to the door, only to have it opened by the one, the only Wu himself. He was accompanied by Zane. Zane had told him everything that happened after he woke up. Wu didn't even have a hint of anger in his eyes or anything. He was just relief to see Lloyd alive. Lloyd was so taken a back when Wu reached out and hugged him, expecting another scolding instead.
"Lloyd, thank goodness you're finally back. You have no idea how worried you've got me!" Wu pulled away, looking at his nephew up and down. "We're going to have to get you a new pair of clothes. Zane, would you go do that for me?"
Zane nodded, leaving them two alone. Wu laid his hands on Lloyds' shoulders. "So what happened? What did he do to you?"
Lloyd pushed Wu's hands off of him. "He is everything you said he'd be. Everything you said those people from the dark kingdom be."
"You were at the dark kingdom?" Wu was shocked.
"Yes, where else would you think Morro would being me? He wanted to turn me in to the king . . . My Father."
The room grew silent as the two of them just stared at one another. Anger filling Lloyd's. Wu sighed. "So you found out."
"Yes, I found out!" Lloyd let out a burst of aggression in the tone of his voice. "And all this time you haven't told me! You've lied and lied and lied! Maybe if you told me the truth none of this would have happened! Have you ever thought about that, Wu!?"
At this point, Lloyd wasn't even mad at Wu. He was mad at Morro. Everything that he's told him, every lie that slipped off his tongue. He was so upset.
"Lloyd, there's a reason I never told you any of this."
"Well save it. I don't want to hear your excuses right now. All I want is revenge. I know where the dark kingdom is, and you've been looking for it. So why don't we go there? Why don't we lay siege on the castle? Make all of them pay!"
