Surprisingly, Wu allowed Lloyd to come along besides him while they marched over the dark lands with their army of nights. Wu could sense how much this meant to his nephew, so for once, just this one time, he allowed him to be out with him on the new laid battlefield. It wasn't long until the sight of the town could be spotted from where they were. The sun was going down, so they made it on time. They were going to launch their attack in the dead of night. Wu had spilt up his army into two fronts. One coming in from each side of the castle. He had pulled a sword from one of his holsters, handing it over to Lloyd. "This sword has been passed down through generations in my family. It's a sacred item, and Lloyd. Today is the the day I hand it down to you. The first time on the battlefield. Don't forget everything I've taught you."
Lloyd took his sword out from his holster, replacing it with the one Wu had given him. Once it was completely dark, they made it even closer to the castle walls. Luckily for them, the gate had been left open. The archers readied their bows, with the tips of the arrow lit with fire. Once they had let go, having the arrows fire over the castle wall, the others rushed through the open gates and the war had begun. From all the sudden people who started to defend the castle, Wu had lost Lloyd in the crowd. His very own nephew, the prince.
But Lloyd had other plans. It didn't care about the war he had started. He ducked and dodged the swing of swords from all around him. It seemed more and more people were rushing out to assist the dark army. Perfect, Lloyd thought to himself. The castle will be empty, and he'll be all mine. He had managed to slip his way into the building itself, chronically hiding behind pillars as more knights ran by. Once they left, Lloyd continued running down the hall. It wasn't long until he found what he was looking for.
Morro. There Morro was at the opposite end of the hall, returning Lloyd's stare. He was shocked to see Lloyd in the midst of this. He was shocked that he even came all the way back here just to cause this fight. Anger and frustration once again overtook Lloyd as he took the sword out, making his way to the other boy. Morro had also taken his sword out, standing right where he was as Lloyd approached him. Even though Lloyd was clearly upset with him, Morro's face seemed to be full of worry and sorrow. "Lloyd-"
He couldn't get another word in as Lloyd swung down at him. Morro moved to the side, having the blade nearly nic part of his body. "Lloyd, what are you doing back here?" He sounded so genuine.
"What do you mean!? I want my revenge!" He swung again, this time having Morro block his attack with his sword.
Morro was pushed up against the wall, holding Lloyd's sword back. "Revenge? On your father?"
Morro managed to slip out from against the wall, as Lloyd didn't take a moment to stop as he swung again and again and again at Morro. Everytime seeming like if it was for Morro's agility, he would have gotten his head chopped off. He kept dodging and blocking Lloyd's attacked, surprised at how accurate his blows were. He didn't he try to go on the offense. He didn't want to hurt the blonde boy. "What the hell, Lloyd!? What are you doing? I thought you couldn't even fight with a sword!"
Lloyd took a second to breathe. "That was never the case. I just didn't want to hurt you. A decision I am starting to regret!"
He swung once again, this time having his sword impaling the wall. It was a second before Lloyd was able to pull it out of the wall as he tugged and tugged. Morro was honestly lost in all of this. He couldn't understand why the soft boy he once knew turned murderous against him. "What did I do!?"
"You're really playing that card right now!? Did you forget what had happened not too long ago!? You played with my feelings, with my thoughts! For what? To gain the upper hand, to be even closer to my father? I trusted you!" With this swing, Lloyd was able to knock Morro's sword from his hands.
"I didn't do any of that! I never meant for you to be captured and brought to Garmadon!"
"Lies!" Lloyd threw himself at Morro, which once again, he barely dodged, having his arm getting cut open.
Morro gritted his teeth, trying to ignore the pain. "Listen, Garmadon said that just to turn you against me. That's what he does, make up lies that happen to work out because of the circumstances. You have to believe me, Lloyd!"
Lloyd was wearing himself out, but he still stayed dedicated to what he wanted to do. "And that's why he still has you around this place, right? I thought you hated him. And all this time we spent together, you never told me that my own father was the king of this place! You only mentioned you knew him! Why haven't you told me, Morro!"
"I couldn't. It was for your own safety. What do you think would have happened if I told you right there and then? He isn't the man you've known. You've seen that for yourself. And it's not my choice that I'm still around. It was either that or he was going to kill me right where I stood. So I said I'll help him. I was never really going to, I would have ran away once again any moment I got. Lloyd, please," Morro begged.
"You broke my heart, Morro! You think I'm going to easily believe everything you're saying!?" Lloyd had stopped making his attacks and actually wanted to hear what Morro had to say.
Morro stood there, clutching his arm where the cut was. "I never intended to break it. I'm not trying to betray you, I'm on your side. Everything that I have told you is true. You just have to believe me. Believe me, Lloyd. We can get out of this together."
"It didn't go so great the last time I had believed you. I had believed you and now I can't pick up the hundreds of pieces of my heart that lays on the ground. I thought . . . I thought we were going somewhere, Morro," Lloyd's emotions cloud his mind. "I thought we had something! I was so stupid to let me heart get the best of me. Why would I think that I could be with someone from this horrible place? I believe you, and I believe that you and I could have been . . ." Tears started to fall from Lloyd's cheeks. "I . . . I really did fall for you."
Morro's eyes grew from the words that just slipped from the prince's mouth. What? Did he just say he . . . Fell for me? Oh my God, Morro. Everything makes sense now. Morro hesitated before stepping closer to Lloyd. Lloyd backed up, pointing his sword up. Morro still proceeded. "Come on, Lloyd. Of you really wanted to kill me, you would have done it right now. I know you, I know your character. You don't have what it takes to kill another person. Especially not me."
"You don't know anything about me!" Lloyd coughed up through tears.
Morro stopped at the top of Lloyd's sword, staring into the boys green eyes. "Well here's your chance, prince. Kill me."
The sword trembled in Lloyd's hand. Morro was right, he really didn't have what it took. He couldn't take another person's life. He never wanted to. Lloyd dropped the sword from his hand, hanging his head down in defeat. He then looked at Morro getting closer to him. "What are you going to do now, turn me back in? Kill me for yourself?" In a way, he accepted his fate.
He expected death, but death was staring back at him with soft eyes. Morro gently laid his palms on the blonde boys soft, teary cheeks. He wanted to do what was right. What he felt deep down in his heart was right. Morro closed his eyes and went for a bittersweet, passionate kiss.
(End)
