Taehyung stared at his room with a surprised face, and not in a positive way.

It kinda...looks artistic. He referred to the new, clean white mattress on the floor which was contrasting with the dirty wooden floorboard. It was also annoyingly cold in his room due to his window being smashed by what he assumed was with all the rocks on the floor.

To make himself feel better, he chucked all his belongings aside and took out a tripod instead. He set up his phone and made his way onto the mattress with a book he never read in his hand.

This would make a good painting, especially with how depressing it looks in here. Taehyung plopped down onto the mattress and used the Bluetooth camera shutter to take his photographs. The process was always fun and tiring as he had move around to so many poses, but it was something that helped him take his mind off of things.

However, it was hard when the problem was right in the room rather than downstairs knocked out due to drinking too much.

There's probably so many spiders and rats in here, what if one crawls up my ass? Taehyung hated the thought of it. It was getting darker faster too since it was winter which means he needed electricity. There was no warmth in the house and he didn't bring anything that could keep him the slightest bit warm.

If I start cleaning it should help me warm up. Taehyung got up onto his feet, grabbing his phone from the tripod before making his way out.

He glanced down the corridor, Jeongguk's room was a few steps down and the opposite side. The door was shut tight and he wondered if the boy had a better room than him.

Once he was done staring, he carefully walked down the stairs that creaked at every step. He was convinced that he'd fall through so it took him way too long to actually get downstairs and out of the house. He also felt as if he'd be robbed outside from how rough the area seemed.

But, he pushed those fears down and hurriedly began to walk down the path that led to the rest of the town.

Taehyung had to agree that it was pretty, it wasn't that bad being isolated from the rest of the town and having a whole woods in front of them. To him, it was like living in a cabin in a forest.

I need to get money somehow, I don't even have any food. Taehyung continued to walk until finally he was around the house and could see where his landlords house was. Technically, it was behind their house just separated by trees.

I hope his daughters nice.

Taehyung finally stopped at the front door and began to hesitantly ring the door. He looked around the street until someone answered.

In front of him stood a girl around his age or a little older with a cigarette in her mouth, "Can I help?" She raised her eyebrows. She had makeup cakes on, contour sharp and dark which made her look a little intimidating.

"Um, I moved into the house your dad owns and I-"

"Oh you're that cute guy from his Facebook, what's your name?" She spat her cigarette out by Taehyung's feet and leaned against the door, "I'm Alice."

Taehyung blinked slowly when a wink was thrown his away, "I'm Taehyung."

"What did you need? A strap on?"

"Wha-"

"I mean a Strepsil? You voice sounds a little sore," The blonde covered up her tracks and cleared her throat, "It's pretty cold out here, stay safe."

"It is which is why I was wondering if you knew anything about the electricity and heating system about the house? And also if I could borrow some cleaning stuff." Taehyung politely asked, staring at the girl who was saying nothing but just checking him out.

"Huh?"

"Could I-"

"Yeah take whatever you want pretty," Alice stepped out of the way and cocked her head towards inside.

"Thank you." Taehyung awkwardly stepped inside and looked around briefly. The house was definitely poorly maintained, it also smelt strange and he realised what it was when his eyes landed on some weed left on the table.

"Do you model?" Alice asked, following Taehyung who couldn't locate any cleaning supplies.

"No," Taehyung mumbled, "Sorry, where are the cleaning supplies?"

"Outside shed." She pointed ahead, "I'd be careful around here, especially at night- especially you. They take anything pretty, boy or girl."

Taehyung shuddered at that, "Thank you I will."

"What's your roommate like? Is he as pretty as you?"

"Um, yeah." Taehyung gave a dry response. I wonder what he's doing right now.

"That's not 20, are you stupid?" The boy spat, holding a small bag in his hand cautiously looking around.

"Calm down Kid, I'm counting." An elder man scoffed taking out another note and passed it to the other, "Are you new around here? What's your name?"

"The fuck are you asking so many questions for?" Jeongguk scoffed and reached into his pocket to pull out his pack of cigarettes, "You've got your shit, you can go now."

"Can I not get to know a new member of this community? I'm gonna see you everyday."

"Are you a pedophile?"

"If I was, you'd be the last person I'd go for, bastard." The man spat before hastily walking away.

Jeongguk let out a scoff, "Dickhead."

At that, he continued to make his way from the random area they had just met up in and decided to head back.

This place is such a shithole. Jeongguk frowned to himself, puffing out smoke as he walked through fallen leaves. The place was rough, but it was better than living in his old environment. At first he felt embarrassed that he ran away, that he  didn't have a valid reason to leave — but the more time he spent away the more glad he got.

I hope those fuckers rot while I'm gone. With gritted teeth, he chucked his chucked his unfinished cigarette onto the floor as he was no longer in a good mood to smoke. Now his only focus was to get back to his new home and waste the day playing video games.

It wasn't a place to look forward to, but he had managed to make his room comfortable. It was terribly cold, but he had his Nintendo Switch to keep him entertained and a bed to rot in.

Then, he remembered he had a roommate.

"Fuck sake." Jeongguk muttered under his breath when he neared the house and saw the brunette sweeping leaves out of their house. He should be grateful that someone was cleaning, but he wasn't keen on socialising with the stranger.

"Oh hell-"

"Hey." Jeongguk gave a quick reply, walking past him without even sparing a glance.

Taehyung gripped onto his broom tight and stared at Jeongguk's head that inched further away from him. A sigh escaped him when the same sound of a door slamming shut was heard which meant he probably wasn't going to see or hear of Jeongguk until God knows when.

I hope we become close soon.
