Jeongguk rolled his lollipops around his mouth, standing against a lamppost with his hands in his pockets and eyes analysing the people walking past. He realised that once the sun began to set, teenagers were coming out and wandering about disturbing the silence night brought.

He had nothing else to do but watch other people live different lives. Running away from home almost meant never seeing his friends again. He could always make new ones, and he also had a roommate that he could become friends with.

Nah, he's way too much of a weirdo. He'd probably annoy the shit out of me if I smoked in front of him. Jeongguk kicked a rock and pondered on what to do to keep the rest of his days entertaining.

Since it wasn't easy to make friends by just walking and finding them, he decided to head back home. Firstly, he decided to go into the pretty part of town.

It was further out and an isolated area with lots of greenery, it was also where mainly retired people stayed or just rich couples. The rest of the town was extremely run down and it was hard believe that area was part of it.

This country needs to sort itself out. Jeongguk turned his music up and began to silently walk. He knew that if he turned some strange corner he'd find a route back home.

Surprisingly, he spotted a familiar boy crouched down on the floor beside some closed stalls.

"What the fuck?" Jeongguk whispered to himself, stopping in the spot to watch Taehyung picking up a bunch of canvases. Was he selling those?

Taehyung then began to stumble away, whining out loud to himself due to not being able to hold the large paintings.

Jeongguk followed him out of boredom. He knew that Taehyung was just going home but then the boy began to whine to himself and kick his feet around.

"I only sold two paintings," Taehyung fake cried and stared up at the sky, "God please make me famous I need money so bad! Or should I just start an only fans?" He pouted completely oblivious to the male listening behind him. He let out a gasp and rapidly shook his head, "No, no that's a really dangerous thing to do- will I go to hell for it too?"

Jeongguk snorted which made Taehyung immediately turn around. He cursed and ran behind a tree, hiding behind it until Taehyung started moving.

Am I being followed? Taehyung shuddered and began to walk faster now no longer talking to himself or whining.

The fear made Jeongguk laugh and want to mess with Taehyung more, so he picked up a twig and chucked it at the boys feet causing him to trip. A cry left him when all of his canvases went flying out of his arms and fell onto the dirty pavement.

"No!" Taehyung gasped and immediately fell to the floor, flipping over the canvases that now had dirty stuck to the oil pain, "No, no no no!" He attempted to wipe the particles off but that began to blend the oil paint even more.

Jeongguk tutted and walked over, plopping a fresh cigarette in his mouth which he lit up before standing above Taehyung.

"Aren't you supposed to put a layer of varnish over that? No wonder nobody buys your shit." Jeongguk stuck his hands in his pockets and stared down at the boy who now had his head against his knees with a sulking expression.

"I'm too poor to buy new stuff, I'm running out of paint too." He spoke with a muffled voice.

Jeongguk tutted, "You should get a job."

"Do you have a job?" Taehyung frowned and looked up at Jeongguk who scoffed.

"I have money."

"How?"

"Drug dealing." He answered, tapping his cigarette which caused some of the ash to fall onto Taehyung's painting.

"Of course, what did I expect." Taehyung mumbled and began to pile his canvases on top of each other, "How much do you make a day?"

"I made £50 today," Jeongguk replied finding the conversation rather amusing since he expected Taehyung to give him a lecture about drugs being bad, "How much did you make?"

"20." Taehyung mumbled. That's enough for food at least.

"Surprised you didn't make less from whatever the fuck you're painting," Jeongguk spat and judgmentally looked at the work, "What is that even a paining of?"

"You're such a dickhead." Taehyung glared up at him which only entertained Jeongguk even more.

"Are you just gonna sit there or start walking back?" Jeongguk asked hinting that he wanted Taehyung to walk back with him.

"I don't want to walk with you."

"Suit yourself, I heard there are a lot of retired creeps in this area that like boys like you." Jeongguk shrugged and stepped over Taehyung's paintings and continued to walk without the boy. A smirk lifted on his face when he heard the boy scramble to get up and follow him.

Taehyung didn't talk though, he walked silently behind him dragging his feet annoyingly loud and huffing every now and then.

From then on, Jeongguk decided that he would be a great source of entertainment until he found his own suitable group of friends like from his hometown.

"I really wish I had my friends from back home." The younger of the two initiated a conversation which caught Jeongguk by surprise since it matched his exact thoughts.

"You'll find the exact same friends here. You always find the same people but in different situations and styles." Then brunette cringed at how wise he sounded but ignored it since Taehyung didn't comment any further.

"Why did you move out?" Taehyung decided to take this as an opportunity to get to know Jeongguk even though he didn't want to.

The two didn't have anyone aside from each other, so they had no choice but to either get closer with one another or spend the rest of their time miserably alone. Until of course they settled down fully.

"Because I wanted to." Jeongguk gave a dry response and threw his cigarette onto the floor.

Taehyung frowned at it, "You know there was so much more of that you could've finished."

"Why don't you pick it up and smoke it then?" He bitterly spoke, "I change my mind, I'm gonna stay out longer."

"What?! But what if I get molested?!" Taehyung dramatically gasped and jogged a little to catch up with Jeongguk.

"The path home is right there, you're not that relevant that someone's gonna be lurking there for you." At that, he turned on his trainers heel and headed a different direction.

Taehyung's face dropped like a puppy and he glanced back at the path and then at Jeongguk who continued to walk away.
