Chapter 15
Ren's POV
"This is amazing," Galloway commented, taking in the glass dome.
It was embedded in a tower on the left side of the castle, complete with a projector that put images on the glass if prompted. It truly was an amazing room to be in, especially since I'm the one who designed it.
Today, I thought it would be a nice place to watch the rain fall, while enjoying a picnic.
"I thought you might like it," I grinned, settling down onto a spot on the floor where we could watch the rain fall around us.
"How come I never saw this from the outside," he asked, setting the basket on the ground in front of me and sitting down across from me.
"Well, between the trees and the giant tower in front of it, it's easily over looked."
"Still, a glass dome. Magnifique."
He took another moment to admire the architecture then cleared his throat and turned his attention on me.
"Sorry, I've always been interested in architecture. Unfortunately, it tends to bring out the more embarrassing side of me. Kind of like a kid inside of a candy shop."
I shifted my legs so I could sit more lady like in this dress. As much as I enjoyed wearing dresses, they were such a pain sometimes
"No worries. I'm the same way about music. I could ramble on and on about certain genres and artists like there was no tomorrow," I admitted, reaching up to fix my tiara then realized it wasn't there.
I had a nervous habit of fixing my tiara, but when I wasn't wearing it, it kind of just looked like I was groping the air above my head. Like when you wear glasses for a while, then switch to contacts and are stuck pushing up your nonexistent glasses later down the road.
It's completely embarrassing, to say the least.
I settled on smoothing a piece of hair that was already tucked into its correct place and smiling. Always smiling.
"Prince Galloway, what's your goal in life?"
"My goal in life...hmm. Hitting the hard stuff right out of the gate are we," he chuckled, then leaned back onto his arms. "I don't really have one. I like to think and live in the moment. It makes things more exciting to me. I don't like to have so many things planned out where I'm always following a schedule. Where's the fun in that? I mostly just go with the flow I guess you could say."
"You like to travel don't you," I asked, taking a sip of the juice he brought.
Yep, it's even in a little pouch.
"Yes...Why do you ask," he squinted his eyes at me as if he were investigating a crime I committed.
"I just know a lot of happy, go lucky people like to travel because they can go with the flow and enjoy it. They just show up with a packed back and travel the world. From what you described, you seem like that type of person."
"Do you always cross-examine your guests," he joked, stretching out his legs.
"Only the Princes," I laughed mimicking his position as I leaned back onto my arms.
That seemed to strike a cord in him because his face turned serious and the light in his eyes diminished.
"Princess, I hate to be so blunt, but I feel you should know that I have no desire to be married anytime soon. I know you are looking for someone to settle down with, but that's just not me. At least not right now."
