Chapter 8
Beckham's POV
I waited in the car for Nate to bring back Isaac. I know Isaac doesn't like Nate, but hopefully, he will catch onto the urgency and cooperate. I would have went in there myself, but since all the Royals are there, I didn't want one of them to blow my cover.
Nate is lesser known and not under false pretenses so he should be okay.
Nate. When will he get a break? Considering his awful past and now he has to be apart of this 'covert operation', I can't help but feel a little sorry for the lad.
I quickly withdrew my thoughts as the car door swung open and Nate and Isaac jumped inside.
"Beck, what's going on?" Isaac immediately questioned before even getting properly settled in his seat.
"I guess I should have seen that coming," I mumbled, then cleared my throat. "Father's assistant called me a couple of hours ago and said that we should consider flying home in the next few hours. Apparently, Father is acting a little strange and insisting that we come home, but of course if you really want to stay a few extra hours, I might can persaude him."
"No. We can leave now. I've already said my goodbyes and i'm assuming you have my bags?"
"Packed and in the trunk," I immediately responded.
"Okay. I'm ready, then," Isaac said, mournfully.
"You look a little heartbroken. Are you sure you're ready to go," I skeptically asked, staring warily at Isaac.
He was currently looking out the car window with a slight frown on his face while me and Nate exchaged a look.
"Stop being a wuss. You were here for not even twenty-four hours. How attached could you get," Nate probed.
"Princess Ren was the first hot female to act like my friend. Every other one rejects me or wants to date me. It was refreshing to find someone who was genuinely nice and not an idiot, like you two."
Nate and I exhchanged an amused look before we both burst out laughing. That made Isaac angry to the point that he looked like a toddler whose juice box had just been stepped on, crossing his arms and scowling at us.
"That was pretty deep, Isaac," I managed to croak out between laughs.
"Whew. You kill me," Nate said, wiping tears from his eyes.
"Lets just go. I'm sick of-" He abruptly stopped talking and started going through all his pockets.
"What did you lose Isaac? Your man card?"
Nate and I started laughing all over again while Isaac struggled to find whatever he was looking for.
"Beckham, did you see my passport when you grabbed my bags," Isaac asked, with panic in his voice.
I instanty stopped laughing once I realized what was going on.
"I'll be right back. I think I left it in the room," Isaac was already opening his door, but I promptly stopped him.
"No way man. I'll go and get it. You'd probably get distracted and take an extra thirty minutes. Stay put. I'll be back," I sighed, pushing open the door.
I really hoped everyone was still at breakfast. I'd rather not have a million questions thrown my way especially while i'm in a hurry.
I go in through the main entrance without a hastle and hurriedly make my way to the room Isaac stayed in. Just as i'm about to round the corner, I hear two high pitched voices talking rapidly.
