Danganronpa: Despair to Prodiges V2

The Return

(Dazai POV)

How long had I been staring at the ceiling? 

At a certain point though, the sun started rising. That wasn't what forced me out of bed though.

KNOCK KNOCK

"..."

"DAZAI! PLEASE!" 

It was Aqua's voice.

'I know...Kazuma's dead.'

"K-Kazuma...Died..."

"..."

"But, Yuuki died to!"

"...Really?"

I was shocked. I sat up from laying down and opened the door.

Aqua was smiling through her tears. 

"Yes, unfortunately though, Fuuka died last night...And Echidna likely died as well since she is missing."

I immediately ran out the door.

"Where?"

"The store area."

"Ok, get Kirito."

I left ahead of her and ran all the way to the scene.

'Yuuki must have been weakened by Gojo...But Kazuma really won?!'

I ran to the site and discovered a burned skeleton that appeared to have blown himself up based on the damage. I assumed this was Kazuma.

Outside the store, lying on the ground dead was Yuuki who had the whole left side of his body blown off.

"..."

I didn't know if I should have felt happy or sad, but what I did feel was empty.

"...So, we can end this now I suppose."

The condition for getting out of here with the code was having 3 people left. That was all. But with Yuuki around, we would have also needed to get rid of him.

I felt the gun in the side of my pants, realizing I never even needed to activate my own trap to kill Yuuki.

Kirito and Aqua arrived, and Kirito was shocked. Almost as much as I was.

"...Dazai, I thought you said no one could beat Yuuki in a 1v1." 

Kirito wasn't trying to get a rise out of me. He was genuinely confused as to how Kazuma, someone noticeably weaker than Gojo and Kirito had been the one to kill Yuuki.

"...Maybe it was because they were friends. After all, there is no doubt that should Yuuki have gone all out using his power and all, he would win. Then again Kazuma had everything he needed ready to trap him."

'I guess I was the ignorant one.' 

None of this really mattered to me though. As I stated, everyone who died would lose their memories, and I sure as hell didn't want to remember what it was like to have emotions like this.

My thoughts flashed back to a time in my life when I had been responsible for creating rage in a monster I should not have, but I quickly got those thoughts out of my head.

We searched for Echidna for a little while, but with no luck in finding her body, or any signs of where she was, we determined she was dead. 

"Follow me," I said

We headed to the portal and I entered the code Future Foundation into the side of the portal. The large gate moved open and we all stepped inside. The pink glow of the portal was definitely offputting for what was about to happen inside of it.
