(Ayanokoji POV)

Subaru had a confident look in his eyes as he looked at me.

"So, let's start. Izuru, you can wait a bit right?"

"Don't try to order me around." He replied, looking at Subaru

"I know, I know." He shook him off, "Anyway, Ayanokoji, put the knives down."

I took a glance at Kyoko and sighed.

"I think you have forgotten something, Subaru," I said, my gaze changing from Kyoko to Subaru's eyes, "I may be at a disadvantage right now, but don't think that you are able to escape my expectations."

Izuru was the one who finally realized and charged in towards Kyoko and I intercepted him.

Subaru with a confused gaze turned to look at Kyoko, only to be met with the barrel of a gun right in between his eyes.

(Kyoko POV 20 minutes ago)

Ayanokoji quickly left. That meant I was alone looking for Subaru.

I wasn't worried really. I had enough weapons on me, and I already was aware of Subaru's abilities. The real question was if he was here in the first place.

If he was, then that meant I would go along with Ayanokoji's plan.

I then heard a loud crash upstairs.

"Guess they're starting huh?" A voice said from up ahead. It was Subaru who seemed to have come out of nowhere

"Subaru. I knew you were a little messed up in the head after your plan was revealed, but I cannot understand what you are trying to do here."

"It's tough trying to understand the thoughts of fools, right?" He laughed

I raised my gun at him, but he didn't look bothered.

"Explain."

"Nah, I'm good."

I placed my finger on the trigger, but just as I was about to shoot him, a new voice joined in.

"Hmmm...It feels weird walking around normally."

My eyes widened in shock as I stared at something that shouldn't be possible.

"How...How is Echidna here?"

Subaru wasn't in the mood for answers though and pulled out a pistol of his own.

I ducked behind a door to one of the rooms

"Echidna, you might wanna leave unless you don't mind losing that body."

"Alright alright."

I quickly aimed a bullet at her but Subaru aimed at me at the same time, and I ducked back into the room.

"..."

"..."

There was a stalemate. I didn't know whether or not if Subaru was peaking, or if he was behind cover as well thinking I was peaking.

I took a mirror from my pocket and aimed it at the door. Subaru was peaking with the gun pointed.

"Oh? I saw that in a manga once." He said as he saw the mirror and shot at it. I pulled it back and dove out of the room.

He quickly aimed for me but this time I pulled the trigger faster. But I was mid-run so I only grazed his arm.

Subaru made it obvious it hurt as his eyes watered a little, but he shot as well. Perhaps because of the wound though he wasn't too accurate.
