It was a bright morning in Montessori High, lots of students were busy doing their things. It's her last year in junior high, so Irene was more pressured on doing her best to be the valedictorian of their batch.
"Girl you've been reading that book since seven, you should take a rest" Ashley said
But rather than listening to her friend she flipped another page.
"You're so boring talaga, hey Sophie wanna go outside? Break time naman eh pwede tayong gumala sa garden"
Their other friend which is Sophie gave her a quick nod. Irene looked at the two girls leaving her behind. She sighed and went back to reading.
Hindi pa niya natatapos ang module na binabasa biglang may kumatok sa pintuan ng kanilang classrooom. Her attention quickly shifted on it, she saw her adviser.
"Class can you give me a minute lang? I need to announce something" saad nito
Agad namang nagsi-upuan ang mga estudyante. Irene closed her book and looked at the girl beside her adviser.
"New kid?" tanong niya sa sarili
She intently observed the new girl.
"Class this is Czarina A. Lopez, she's 13 years old"
Napataas ng kilay si Irene. She thinks Czarina is too young to be a grade 10 student.
"I know you're all confused but this girl right here is quite smart. Medyo advanced si Czarina sa mga kaedad niya that's why the school decided on moving her here" paliwanag ng kanilang adviser
"What is happening Louise?" Ashley suddenly asked
Hindi na namalayan ni Irene na nakabalik na pala ang dalawa niyang kaibigan.
"Uhm may new classmate ata tayo" sagot niya
"Oh my gosh, she's pretty" Sophie whispered
Irene glanced at Czarina and she was surprise because the girl is also looking at her.
"Louise will be your seatmate, she's the classroom president so do not be shy asking her questions about the class. And you everyone, I hope you welcome Czarina properly. That's all may klase pa ako sa kabilang section"
Agad na umupo si Czarina sa tabi ni Irene. Ito na mismo ang unang bumati.
"Hello, sabi ni Sir Manalo ahead ka sakin ng dalawang taon" sabi niya
Irene gave her a bored look.
"Yes and so what?"
"Should I call you ate?"
Agad na tumawa si Ashley at Sophie.
"Girl, ate daw oh hahaha" Ashley said
"I mean she's right, ahead nga naman tayo sa kanya" Sophie said
"Shut up you two, and you don't call me ate" sabi ni Irene at inirapan si Czarina
"O-Okay po, sorry. Naoffend ka ba sa tanong ko Irene?"
Hearing that, Irene quickly looked again at Czarina.
"N-Not really, I just don't like it. Call me Irene from now on" sabi na lang nito
Ashley and Sophie looked at each other after witnessing the scene. Czarina on the other hand smiled and took out her module.
"Ay beshy mukhang pareho nga sila, kaya pala pinagtabi ni Sir" saad ni Ashley
"Yup, let's go and eat ice cream na lang. Congrats Louise may new buddy ka na" sabi naman ni Sophie
The two girls left them. Irene slowly pointed out a chapter in their module.
"That will be the topic for our next subject, if you want to study in advance" nahihiyang sabi nito
"Thanks Irene, ikaw lang ba nag aadvance study sa section niyo?"
"I guess, why?"
"Wala naman, ako lang din kasi yung ganun sa dati kong section" sagot ni Czarina
Irene smiled, she suddenly feel weird meeting someone just the same as her.
Natigilan sa pag alala ng nakaraan si Irene nang hawakan siya sa braso ng kanyang kaibigan
"Louise, your mojito" saad nito
"I miss her so much, I always want to be with her Ash. It has been seven years" bigla niyang sabi
Nagulat man ay agad na tinapik ng kaibigan ang kanyang likod.
"You're having a great time with her right now, yet you still miss her? Louise what's with you?"
Irene leaned on her friend's shoulder.
"She doesn't remember who I really am" bulong niya
"I told you it will take some time, come on stop complaining like a kid. Hindi ka pwedeng magtampo kay Czarina, hindi bagay"
"Tss as if something's going to change if I do that"
"Meron, iisipin niyang baliw ka" sagot sa kanya ni Ashley
"Pero nagulat talaga ako nang makita ko kayo sa parking lot, I didn't know dito siya nakatira sa high rise...and you! I thought you hate living by yourself Louise?" dagdag nito
"I want to get closer to her, I want to drive her home rin" nahihiya niyang sagot
"Is that really you Louise? Hahaha ang taray mo pati samin but when it comes to Czarina...hay naku girl what's up with you?"
"I told you, once our life collides again I will make sure to make her stay for lifetime"
"You want your fairy back?"
"Yes Ash, there's no day I did not wish for her to come back to us, to me"
"Tell me the truth Louise, do you like Czarina? I know how much she means to you because she's our friend back then but seven years has passed"
"Of course, Czari is special to me Ash. Very special and you know that, she's been making me happy just by being with me" diretsong sagot nito
"Oh my gosh! Really? So you like her? Since when?"
Irene went silent, she drink the last shot of her mojito. Her lips formed a little smile, she looked at her friend and put down her shot glass.
"Since the first day we met her, she already caught my attention. I knew to myself she will be the reason of my downfall once we become close. And so she did, she made me fall...for her"
