Everything went back to normal. Actually nag improve lalo ang connection namin ni Irene, I mean pagdating sa work.
"Your schedule's already in your email" sabi ko
"Czari, can you cancel my meeting with the Lee's later?"
"Why?"
"I want to talk to them tomorrow afternoon sana, Ash wants me to visit a new bar in grove"
"But it's Saturday tomorrow ma'am"
I think nakalimutan niya, mukhang natigilan ito sa aking sinabi.
"Tell them you will call them na lang next week"
"Okay, on it" tipid kong sagot
"She also wants you to go pala, I mean Ashley" dagdag niya
Napatingin ako sa kanya, Irene just gave me a smile.
"Sure, isn't she mad at me?" tanong ko
"Why would she be? You know her personality, she's not immature"
"I suddenly feel nervous, parang ang unfair na hindi man lang kayo nagalit or nagtampo sakin"
"Czari we know you too well, even if it's only three months I know you had your reasons why you suddenly left"
"Yeah, I needed to transfer in Sta. Rosa kasi. Mom's work is already there plus daddy's also there"
"You mean Tito Victor?" tanong nito
"Yup, they decided to move in na together"
"I see, why did you not contacted me at all?"
Napakamot ako ng batok sa tanong niya.
"Kasi nga hiyang-hiya ako. Tyaka we were still young back then, akala ko hindi na big deal sa inyo yun"
"You're my best friend" bigla niyang sabi
Napakagat ako ng labi.
"Go back to your work na nga, stop feeling bad about it. We're fine and you're back. That's the only important thing right now" paliwanag niya
"I will really make it up to you and to them din"
I contacted mister Lee's assistant to inform them about the cancellation of the meeting suppose to happen this afternoon. After that I continued checking the emails.
When I looked at the clock I noticed it's already three o'clock.
I glanced at my boss slash long lost best friend who's busy checking some papers on the table.
Since wala pa akong gagawin, pagtitimpla ko na lang siya ng juice tyaka kukuhanan ng chips.
Lumabas ako ng office at nagsimulang maglakad.
"Masarap sana yung egg sandwich kaso hindi mahilig sa tinapay yun" sabi ko sa sarili
Dumiretso ako sa pantry area at nagtimpla. Kumuha rin ako ng chips at gumawa ng isang egg sandwich.
Pagbalik ko sa office nadatnan ko siyang nakaupo na sa couch at mukhang minamasahe ang sariling kamay.
"You okay?" tanong ko
She gave me a quick nod and leaned on the couch.
"Just a bit tired from those papers" sagot nito
"Juice and chips"
Inilapag ko ito sa table at tumabi sa kanya. Mukha namang nabuhayan siya bigla.
"Thanks, wait is that sandwich?"
