Just a short story in honor of my beloved TaeJin. 🐻🐹💜🐯🐹
We didn't have an official TaeJincember this year but I always write one or two extra books for Tae's birthday.
This year I will also post one on Jin's birthday. I hope y'all enjoy reading...
Once they arrived in town, Jin's daughter Su-min recognizes the scenery and jumps up excitedly in the back seat. "We're going to see halmeoni?!"
Jin smiles and says, "Yes princess. But sit down before you get hurt."
She quickly sits back down and ties her seatbelt. And looks out the window with bright eyes. Temporarily forgetting the awful reason for the sudden trip.
When they get close to Jin's mother's house, he calls her and she is waiting outside the door waiting for them.

She comes running towards them as they park. And Jin has to tell her to slow down or she'd get hurt. "Eomma! Be careful! You're not a young woman anymore."
She scoffs and says, "I can outrun you right here, right now you smartass."
"Don't do it Jin. She'll leave you in the dust and you'll never be able to live it down." Jimin tells him.
Jin laughs and says, "I'm not stupid. But if she falls and breaks a hip, then she can't say she wasn't warned."
Jin's mother kneels down with her arms wide open as Su-min comes running into her. They both tumble but start to laugh. They get up and walk towards the house, leaving Jin and Jimin to handle the luggage.
Jimin doesn't mind and looks up at the large house. "I love coming here. It's always so homey."
"Yeah.. I guess." Jin responds.
They carry the luggage inside as the sun sets. Jin's mother has dinner cooking and tells them to freshen up in their room before coming down to eat.
"Jimin, I saved you the same room as before. Right across the hall from Jin-ah. Just make yourself at home. You know you're just like a son to me."
Jimin runs over to hug her and kisses her cheek. "Thank you so much! I love that room. I'll be right back."
Jimin runs upstairs with his things while Jin stays with his mother. "Thanks eomma, for letting us stay here. Especially when I don't know for how long."
She reaches out to caress his cheek and says, "This will always be your home sweetheart. As far as I'm concerned, you are officially moved back in. Now go put your things up and come back for dinner."
He nods and carries their things to their separate rooms right next to each other.

That first evening they all sat down for dinner and talked about things and tried very hard to not mention the fiasco that was Jin's marriage. They tried to keep the mood light and carefree. Which they managed to do for most of the evening. But when it was time for Su-min to go to sleep, she began to ask for her father.
"Baby, you can't speak to your father right now because he's been very busy. But I'm sure he is thinking of you and wishes he could see you."
And she got very upset and started to cry, "I want to see my father. Please! Call him."
