Jin and Taehyung sat in the waiting room while Jin's mother was in the emergency room. He was silently crying and trying to keep his composure.

"It's been so long without any news. What if it's bad?"

"Don't allow yourself to think that way. She will need you to be strong. She has always been the strong one but you need to be there for her now. Just keep thinking positive."

"You're right.. I'm just so scared. Besides Su-min, she's all the family I have left. She's my rock."

Tae hugs him then says, "I'm gonna go down the hall to grab us some coffee. I'll be right back. Ok."

Jin nods and sits back in his seat. Jungkook and Ji-hyun have been sitting quietly across from them. Jin even forgot they were there. When he looks towards them he tells Jungkook, "You don't have to stay. We will be here a while."

"I know we don't. I just.. I want to know if she'll be ok before I go. She's been more of a mother to me than my own mother."

The door opens and the doctor calls out, "Mr. Kim?"

Jin jumps up and says, "Yes! I'm here!"

Jungkook jumps up too and walks over to join him. Ji-hyun frowns displeased.

"Your mother has suffered a heart attack and we had to clear the blockage. It's still too soon to tell how well she'll recover. But we will keep her under observation for a while. She's still sedated but will be moved to another floor where patients recover."

"Can I see her?"

"You can see her for a few minutes but she won't know you're there."

Jin and Jungkook follow the doctor inside just as Tae returns with the coffee. Ji-hyun couldn't believe that Jungkook just left her behind without a glance back.

Her anger disappears when she sees Tae look just as disappointed. She walks over and grabs one of the coffee cups and sips from it.

"Looks like it's just you and me now."

Tae can't control the eye roll and hands her the other coffee cup. Then walks towards the same direction as Jin went.

As he walks down the short corridor he sees several areas that are closed off by a curtain. He continues until he hears hushed voices.

"She'll be out of it for a good while. By the time she wakes up, she'll be in a room upstairs. There's currently a shortage of single rooms, unless you are able to pay for the privilege. So she'll be sharing a room with at least two others. I'm really sorry, but I don't make the rules."

Jin sighs and shudders nodding at the doctor. Tae pulls the curtain back and hears Jungkook say, "I will be responsible for her hospital stay. Please make sure that she's in a single room. Make her as comfortable as possible. Here's my business card. Charge everything thing to me."

The doctor smiles and says, "Very well. I will give you a few minutes alone with her and make arrangements for her transfer."

Once the doctor leaves, Jin turns to Jungkook and asks, "Why did you do that? We're not even together anymore."

"I know. But I have been a horrible husband to you for so long. And I have always been grateful to your parents for accepting me into their family. I love your mother, even though I know she doesn't care for me anymore. This is the least I can do. As a way to thank her."

Jin's eyes swelled with tears and instinctively went to hug him. He cried loudly into his shoulder and said, "Thank you. I don't know what to say. I really appreciate it. She means everything to me. So thank you."
