(((FLOWERKIT'S POV)))

I waited patiently beside my littermates outside of the nursery for Icepool to return home.

And waited.

And waited.

And I got bored of waiting.

"This is boring," I whined, "I want to do something."

Shadekit stretched and Moonkit shrugged. "Do you have any suggestions?"

I stopped then thoughtfully. "No," I admitted, "But anything's less boring than sitting her doing nothing."

"We're not doing nothing," Shadekit pointed out. "We're waiting."

I groaned. "Stop being so boring and come play! Let's see if Mistkit will want to play anything."

Moonkit rolled her eyes. "Mistkit never wants to play with us."

"Let's check anyways," I replied stubbornly.

"Okay," Moonkit sighed, "But just remember I tried to warn you."

I ignored Moonkit's comment and strode into the nursery. I found Mistkit at the back of it on her hind legs swiping at a moss ball that hung from the roof from a long fern.

"Mistkit, can you come play with us?" I pleaded.

Mistkit stopped attacking the moss ball and sighed. "Can't you see that I'm busy?"

"Busy doing what?" Shadekit blinked blankly at her.

"Training for when I become an apprentice." Mistkit replied.

I sighed. "So you can't play with us?"

"No, sorry guys," Mistkit shrugged.

Moonkit nudged me. "I told you so."

I sighed and Shadekit nodded in the direction of our nest. "Lets just go take a nap until Icepool comes back."

I looked from him to Moonkit, then shrugged in defeat and padded into our nest, curling my tail over my muzzle.

(((SHADEKIT'S POV)))

I shifted in my nest. I could hear Moonkit's deep breathing, showing she was asleep, and Flowerkit was lying a few tail lengths away from her.

I gently got to my paws, careful not to wake up my sisters. Something was whispering to me, calling to me and my heart.

I padded towards the exit of the nursery just as I heard shuffling behind me.

"Shadekit?" I heard Flowerkit mew.

Oh fox dung.

"What is it?" I turned back around to face her.

"You're not going outside the camp, are you?" Moonkit blinked awake, frowning as she asked.

"Are you?" Flowerkit added, sounding much less disapproving than Moonkit.
