Failed Escape
A
mber sneaks past the camp's meeting place where she can hear everyone talking, she walks down to the cells not daring to breathe, ever since her villager friend was killed, she has never trusted anyone with anything important, until she met that guy in the desert, DNAx. Now she feels as if she has a duty to save him. She sneaks down the steps into a dungeon room, she sees the cell, and the people in it, they are unmoving… asleep. Their weapons are laid near the outside of the cell, shimmering with enchantments. It's a one room prison which is a strange layout to her.
Then DNAx stirs as he sees her,“Amber is that you?” he whispers, his eyes seem to almost glow in the dark.
“Yes, I am gonna get you out of here,” she says taking the keys off the hook.
DNAx tenses,
“Don't-” he hisses “you'll set off the alarm.”
She pauses then looks around,
“I can still get you out,” she pulls out one of her daggers, it catches the light.
“What about them?” DNAx asks indicating the other two people with him.
She hesitates,
“We can make it if we are quick,” she says finally not sure why he wants to save them also, she takes the keys off the hook, suddenly cords snake around her legs sending her crashing down.
DNAx gasps,
“Amber!” he hisses as she cuts the cords stepping forward.
“Go now!” he says, “they’ll get you!”
She stares,
“We can make it,” she fits the key into the lock.
Suddenly there's the sound of walking feet and she springs away slipping the keys back on the hook.
She stays hidden in the shadows and DNAx pretends to be asleep as Burrito walks into the room,
He gazes around seeing the cut cords on the ground from the trap that had been sprung,“Someone was here,” he mutters then leaves.
DNAx sits up again,
“Go!” he whispers to Amber, “I'll get out, you don't need to help me anymore, you can go back home if you want.”
She stares at him from the shadows uncertainly, it's almost as if he doesn't want her to get in trouble too, she nods then hops down from her hiding place.
“Maybe we will meet again,” she murmurs then hands DNAx the keys and springs away.
She escapes into the trees stunning the guarding members of the group with her daggers.
It's as if he wanted to do it himself, he seemed almost stressed out and annoyed too...
She decides to sit out and wait to see if her giving him the keys had worked, the camp is illuminated with light, it’s rather big.
She wonders if they even still have any of the villagers captive from her village. She recognized the leader guy back in the forest, although he looks much more powerful than she remembers. In the past she saw an iron chestplated version of him with a little band of friends attacking and killing her villager friends.
She’s sure the nice villager who had taught her sign language was killed. She desperately hopes Harry wasn’t. He was her friend since she first found the village. Or perhaps they found her, she doesn’t remember anything before waking up in the village.
