Foxjin and Colder

Spiders Venom, Skeletons Gift and Cant Trust People

Put these 3 chapters together because they are short.

Spider's Venom

Foxjin looks down as she walks feeling mad at herself for letting gravel scare her and for remembering things she was supposed to forget. She shakes her head and looks up, there's light ahead of them at the end of the mineshaft tunnel. She looks over at Colder, he's also mysterious to her, she's not sure she wants him around... it could be bad, just another DNAx all over again.
They head forward towards the light to see what it is. She steps out on the ledge of another ravine, this one has mineshaft entrances, a lot of them... the mineshaft is even bigger than they’d thought.

"Woah...” Colder looks around the new ravine, he gestures towards one of the entrances. Foxjin follows him as he heads into it.
After all, she thinks I can't go back now...

Colder looks up ahead and sees cobwebs, he pauses, it looks suspicious, like a spawner. Foxjin has paused too readying her bow.

“Spiders,” she says.

“Cave spiders!” Colder yells as one scurries out heading for him, he swipes his sword killing it, he kicks it away into the shadows hoping that was the only one. But another comes out and another and another. Soon they are surrounded by spiders on all sides.

“Uh oh” Colder says, then all the spiders spring. Soon all he can see is a frenzy of their bodies hurrying to attack him, there's too many to fend off.

“Run it's our only chance!” He hears Foxjin yell, they sprint into another tunnel. Colder sees light up ahead.

“There!” He yells pointing towards it, they keep running, jumping right off the ledge of the chute they’d come out off and into the water below.
Colder is soaked but he doesn’t care because they are safe, the spiders won’t follow.

“You didn't get bit did you?” Foxjin asks finally.

“No... why?” He looks at her,

"Because they are poisonous,” she replies, treading water.

Colder wrinkles his nose,

I'm glad I didn't get bit he thinks as he climbs out of the water shaking off, Foxjin follows suit.

“Different tunnel?” she asks.

“Yeah” he agrees.

They turn and go to the other side of the ravine entering a different entrance.

“You scared of spiders?” she asks him finally.

“Depends” he replies.

She nods agreeing with him, they are getting along much better now than before in Colder’s view.

“Why did you leave?” she asks as they walk.

He pauses knowing she means the Resistance.
“I went to save some player from an overpowered drownd… Got a little beat up, I didn't go back after, there was more to think about out there, without influence, I was tired of it.” He explains finally.
She nods, it's weird to think they both came from the same Resistance, she must have joined soon after he left.

“Do you think Grave lived?” he asks.

She shrugs not responding, sometimes she just does that, decides she doesn't want to talk. He's not sure if they are exactly friends now or what but she doesn't seem to hate him as much as it seemed before.
He stops, staring at the gold ore in the wall, it reminds him of Nico for some reason...

He slowly mines it, getting lost in thought before they continue down the tunnel.

Skeleton's Gift

“Gold...” Colder murmurs then mines it. Foxjin blinks in confusion.

Why does he like that so much? she wonders, he's staring distantly at the ore in his hand, but she's not listening to whatever he says next, she hears bones clinking. 

"It's a bones boy” Colder says.

“What?” Foxjin asks confused. 

“I mean a skeleton” he says, correcting himself.

A bones boy? Foxjin wonders, where did that come from?

Colder takes out his sword approaching the skeleton and smashes it to pieces. He takes the enchanted golden helmet and chestplate, he holds them out to Foxjin who takes a step back. 

"Why are you giving them to me?” she asks suspiciously,

“Just cuz” he replies shrugging.

 She stares suspiciously for a moment longer then reluctantly takes them storing them in her inventory, Colder just walks forward toward the end of this tunnel Foxjin follows, still suspicious of him and what his motives are.

Can't Trust People.

Once they finish exploring the mineshaft and it’s getting dark Colder sighs,

"It's time to go back home” he admits, looking up at the dark sky.

"Yeah...” Foxjin agrees, she's been quiet since he gave her the armor, as if she's suspicious of him. He doesn't quite understand the reasoning… but he tries not to think about it much.
She jumps down from the mineshaft edge landing successfully, Colder jumps down too, he feels shock running up his legs as he hits the obsidian.

"See you later maybe,” he says. 

“Maybe” Foxjin responds softly, Colder turns and climbs back out of the ravine, being careful not to get stuck this time.

“We could find more ravines, make a mine,” Colder suggests.

“Yeah...” She seems hesitant.

Maybe we could be friends, work together, avoid the darkness in the Resistance and the war going on... we have similar stories, maybe she will trust me someday, he thinks.

It seems a little far-fetched and he's not sure he can completely trust her but it's good enough for now.
She follows him out of the ravine,

“Well see you later I guess” he says remembering they only met a few days ago.

She nods.

He starts to walk away; he has a lot to think about now...

 Foxjin watches him go and sighs,

You can't trust anyone, she thinks, eventually they betray your trust and leave you behind and now he knows where my house is. I don't trust him, I can't let myself trust him... I can't stay in my ravine... 

“I have to leave” she says firmly to herself, she heads home to pack everything while trying not to feel sad about leaving her home. 

"It's for the best” she reassures herself “I trusted DNAx and look how that turned out” she remembers her other friend's white eyes once more. remembering how she felt when she turned and DNAx wasn't there to save her that time.
