There's a girl on the street
Whose eyes you won't meet
Because you're too ashamed
But isn't ignoring her pain
Something much the same
As harming her yourself
Her face looks dead
But her eyes plead with words unsaid
All she wants is to feel alive
She's human too
But, just like you
I avoid her searching gaze
But maybe we're so afraid
Because inside we're all the same
And admitting that fact might get us hurt
