Suzie Stitch
Your eyes are closed
Your mouth tied shut
Your bones exposed
When tiny children look upon your smile
They cringe in fear
They call you vile
They do not know your story
Or why your eyes are dead
For your life has been quite gory
And frankly, quite sad
Suzie stitch
Your daddy loved you
Maybe just a little too much
He did what fathers should never do
And you kept it in the hush
Mama knew the secret too
She kept it to herself
But in her mind she hated you
For the beauty you possessed
And while all eyes were on your smile
Your mama's plan progressed
Suzie stitch
She murdered you
That knife she did pick up
And on your skin she drew
The blood crept up
Your smile died
Your heartbeat at a gallop
But that is not the end of it
For with a needle and a thread
Your lips and eyes she soon would knit
Suzie stitch
We know your story
Of how you were abused
And, indeed, it was quite gory
How your mama killed you
And when we look upon your face
That has always been your cue
To pick up thread and needle
And begin the work anew
