If I let my mind wander
If I sit here and ponder
What wonders will my mind create?
And if I let my thoughts fly
Till my head hits the sky
Can I reach that heavenly place?
Of passionate loving
And creation's becoming
Reach a world of my own design?
Where the hate that haunts me
And the troubles that taunt me
Can dissipate like mist in the wind
Or must I remain here
Bathed in the fear
Of surviving in this bastardly world?
I guess I'll just pray
That if I must stay
I can learn to love God's broken earth
