Kiara

"How in the world am I supposed to live with this?"

It had to be that these documents were designed so I wouldn't have the patience to read them but when a man like Antonio was involved, no word would go unread. Even if it took me days. The contract agreement was dropped on my table first thing the next morning, the document was pages thick and each one had enough words to get me to sleep. The first few pages were things I already knew. If I didn't know better, I would've signed it right away but when I got to the middle, there were a bunch of impossible rules stated out. Rules that breaking them would cause a breach in the agreement and a few of them also came with a consequence of refunding every single dime. There was also this one that could get me behind bars so yeah, it's that serious.

Rules like being with any other man that wasn't him or any act that would cause him public embarrassment which includes not just acts and words. The way I dressed, the people I would talk to, everything would matter. Finally, I understood why Luke took me away from Crowell, it's because even that would be considered a breach.

"It's not difficult, just live through the next three years as quietly as possible and if you pay close attention, maybe you'll learn some manners along the way"

"And maybe we'll just both forget this ever happened and you'll find a wife somewhere else"

"I have a million and one women to choose from"

"And yet you chose an average coffee girl, surprising, isn't it?"

"Is this because of something Gina said?"

Yes, she spat out facts and also gave me a glimpse of what it would be like to consent to this. All of that I would've said but then I remembered how dangerous he could be. Maybe Gina wasn't the nicest person but I would not be able to bear it if something bad happened to her because of me.

"You pushed me to talk to her because she's your ex, the same way you'd make me do stupid things unknowingly in the future"

"If I wanted Gina, I would've had my way. Her husband doesn't make half of the man I am"

"You're egotistic"

"And you're rude"

"You know what? This conversation is over, you can take your offer to someone else. Turns out I'm fine not having a lot of money and my sister will survive a few more years without me"

"You think? There's a very slim chance you'd get out of this, not when everyone at that party thinks you're my fiancée. If you have not registered it yet, the news is flying around"

"Then we'll end it, the same way we did to the scandal"

"Fine"

"Fine?" For a negotiation that had taken a whole day, that was an abrupt end and although that was exactly what I wanted, it made me kind of worried cause he's just as scary as he is unpredictable.

"I would never force a grown woman into an agreement"

"Good cause that's what a gentleman would d_"

"But it's obvious to me you're not one and you need time to think"

"This one time I don't need any time to think, I've made my decision and it's unwavering"

"Have a good day Kiara"

"You too and don't forget to take your papers on your way out"

He left and no, he didn't take the papers.
