Kiara

"Welcome on board Miss Sky, would you like me to get you anything?"

Regina was by the entrance of the plane all dressed up like the air hostess. Everyone looked all squeaky clean and official and I strolled in wearing a plain blue dress. I was a little underdressed but at least it's a lot better than sweatpants which was my original plan.

I just don't get it, we were only about four traveling excluding the other staff and we had other clothes packed for the actual events. Yeah, you heard that right. Events.

There were three in two weeks and we would be staying in one of the houses which, by the contract, now belongs to me. It would be the first time I saw one of my properties. Weird, cause all I had before was a job at a coffee shop which was hanging by a loose thread and maybe a few hundred in the bank but now, I'd gotten a little too much for a young woman in her twenties.

"Is Antonio here?"

"You're the only one left"

"Well, isn't that great?"

Antonio and Luke sat across each other, the former with his legs crossed and eyes glued to the screen of his phone and the latter staring out the window. It was the first time flying with Antonio and the memory of the last one with Luke was still fresh in my head, especially what happened right after. I guess that was the only

"Great, you're here," Luke said the moment his eyes met mine. "Right on time for the briefing"

I sat next to Luke and my seat gave me the perfect view through the window. My eyes moved to Antonio, he was still on his phone. Weird, cause I would've bet he would have at least one snarky comment about how late I was.

"In about eight hours from now, we would land in San Juan, Puerto Rico_"

"Eight hours?"

"Nothing to worry about Miss Sky, you would have everything you need provided" Except for the fact I had eight hours in the same compartment with Antonio, after I made him admit he loved me over the phone even when he would never in his right senses say that.

It made me wonder how he knew to play along. If I was at the other end of the phone, all he would get is a long laugh and sarcastic replies.

"Can I go on?"

"Sure sure"

"The first event happens tomorrow evening and till then we will be in the penthouse. Right after, we move to Russel manor and we will reside there till the next week when we would host the next event_"

"We're hosting an event?"

"Yes, a small welcome party for the new Mrs Russel"

"The celebrant isn't aware"

"Wasn't" Luke corrected "No need to worry, everything needed has been provided, you only need to be present"

Like a doll.

"The purpose of this is to clear the misconceptions going around these days. Mr Russel will announce you his fiancé and the date of the wedding will also be announced. The last event is at the end of the second week, we'll spend one more day in the manor and fly back. Any questions? No. Just like I thought"

"You answered the question yourself"

"That'd be all for now. If you need anything, you can call me"

Luke took his leave after that and it was just me and Antonio left. The room was quiet and boring for a moment, then the voice of the pilot filled the room. We buckled up as the plane took off and a few moments later, we were steady in the air.

Then the silence continued and let me just say this, Antonio's got to be the most boring person on the planet. Eight hours together with this dude and my head my screw off out of boredom. Then again, there's nothing to talk about when it comes to Antonio. He didn't care about the things I found interest in and I doubt he likes sports.

Now, is this a problem?

No. It's only weird because of the call we had two days ago and he hasn't mentioned anything about it ever since.

"So, Antonio" I paused "An interesting day, isn't it?"

He looked up at me and threw me a questioning look "I'm busy, Kiara"

"Oh please, it's our first time flying together. Eight hours of fun" I chucked "So we're not talking about it?"

"About what?"

It's one of two things, he truly doesn't mean anything to him and he didn't think much of it or he remembers and doesn't want to make a matter out of it. Either one of the two, I was caught between letting it go or telling him why it happened. It probably doesn't make any sense to him and I'm overthinking.

You know what? Scratch it, I'm not talking about it.

"Nothing"

"If it's about the bridesmaids, You're aware you can pick whoever you want. Those are merely suggestions"

"I don't have friends that'll fit into your category"

"That was never a requirement"

"Whatever Antonio, it's not that serious. It's just a dumb wedding"

"You sound upset"

"And since when did you care so much about me?"

Maybe my voice was a little too sharp. It felt like a second me kicked in cause it's a dumb thing to get angry over the fact he didn't remember. It's not like we care, right?

"I will never understand women" Antonio's gaze was fixed on mine for a second or two before a deep laugh filled the room. That was one of the few times I'd seen him laugh, the last one being the prank he and Kevin pulled on me. His dimples were evident and there was a slight squeeze to the side of his eyes a_ Woah woah woah, hold up. We don't care about that.

"This is about your little love confession, isn't it?"

As if this couldn't get embarrassing enough, he was laughing his butt off. I was forcing myself to remain calm and composed, I too had the strong urge to laugh. Now looking at it again, this doesn't make sense.

"I love you, bye" He mimicked a high-pitched female voice. I probably wouldn't mind if that came from anyone but Antonio. That's too human, it's too not official or robotic. I didn't think there was a normal side to him.

"I don't sound like that and I said it because my sister was in the room. It has to look believable, remember? You said that"

"I never said anything about confessing love Kiara"

"I swear you would've understood if you were there, I didn't have a choice"

"Than to call me to say you love me? Yeah, that sounds very believable"

At this rate, my head is going to explode from smiling too much. There was nothing I could say to make this man believe me. I wish I didn't bring it up in the first place, this is so embarrassing.

He's not stopping anytime soon and it's the first time he has something solid against me. I thought this would be a normal conversation but it's clear the next seven hours would be the most shameful of my entire life.

"You know what? I don't care anymore, you can believe whatever you want. I'm out of here"

I stood up to leave as I couldn't take another second just sitting there with my cheeks about to tear open. I was only a few steps away from the wide entrance which was also exactly beside Antonio and let me just begin by saying this may sound cliche but it happened, okay? This isn't a romance story or anything, it just happened to be that I slipped and fell. You get the whole story.

That day couldn't get any worse.

I fell in the blink of an eye and I didn't know what was happening till I realized about half of my weight was on another human. I had one hand try to stop my body from falling and the moment it slipped down the edge of the leather seat, my legs followed so you can say I fell twice in one fall.

I didn't wait to regain composure as the next idea that popped into my mind was to roll down to the floor. It's better to get the germs from the floor than to stay on him but It has to be that the world was suddenly against me cause doing that too was difficult and in the end, I looked like a fish out of water.

The next thing I felt was one arm at my side and another at the other side. He formed a strong grip around me with both his arms, locking me in what felt like a cage. A cage of uttermost disgrace.

"Calm down Tesoro, I don't bite"
