Mello sighed as he bit on a bar of chocolate. He's been getting strange thoughts all day, and he can't figure out why.

Mr. Roger had informed him that Quinn was feeling better, which meant that he wouldn't need to accompany her anymore.

He should have been relieved. Happy, even. With all of this free time, he could study and talk to Matt. Why did he feel disappointed?

Mello could hear the laughter of Linda and Quinn outside. It was getting colder, so they didn't go to the courtyard as much.

He couldn't help but look through the window, his eyes landing on a certain brunette. Did she always look that pretty?

A loud knock on the door snapped him out of it.

"Come in," he watched the door handle turn.

An excited Matt slammed the door open, his broken glasses slipping off his face, but he didn't acknowledge it.

"I found a new game in the attic, let's look at it together!" Mello could see the stars in his eyes.

He hoped that the game would make him forget of his worries, and sat on his leather couch to play with his friend.
