Some time went on and Amber along with her coach were in an office. The office that belonged to the head herself Ms. Tavern. She sat in the chair waiting for this meeting to end. The conversation mostly between her coach and Tavern. Either way, she was lost in thought about everything that happened the past month. All the training, the tips she received from Riona to sharpen her skills. All the snide comments from her coach also, to say the least she felt a bit of resolve.

“Ms. Monroe, are you ready?” Ms. Tavern turned to her, Amber brought out her daydream gazed her way. “The tryouts are this weekend. Are you ready?” She further explained. Amber nodded as she was fiddling with her fingers. Tora in the back of her thoughts making sure she was fine. But she also blocked out her words.

Soon after they were dismissed, Amber walked out her hands hidden in her hood pockets. She was followed closely behind by her coach. As the walked to the exit, a man walked by. He moved the direction of Ms. Tavern’s office.

As she stood in her windows, the door opened behind her. The reflection showed the man from before. “Excuse me who the fuck do you think you are?” She turned to face the stranger.

“I think I know very well you failed to do something correctly” the man said. She grimaced upon recognizing the face. “What do you want,” she rolled her eyes while sitting behind her desk.

Alexis

“Simply saying Morozova. Where here to talk about your commitment to code. Why is it that this girl’s out of your eyesight?” I sighed, pinching my nose. “She’s being watched.”

“Oh so are you certain that she’s where she’s supposed to be?” He questioned folding his arms. “Yes sir,” I answered him back.

“Has she been in any trouble since the news of Sultan?”

“No sir,” I answered again. He seemed satisfied from my multitude of answers to his questions. “That's good to hear, but really sending that girl to a different country Alexis. Are you looking for a summons from the court?” I laughed, which was a bit rude but who am I kidding. This man was just reprimanding me for letting Amber move country, and now he’s acting concerned.

“I’m serious. Are you looking for the elders to skin us alive!?!?” he growled through gritted teeth. “No I’m not. But you seriously doubt my leadership skills. Our clan isn’t in immediate danger.” I said getting up to leave. “Don’t say that now, because the last time you did we lost someone because of your-”

“DON’T YOU DARE, finish that sentence.” I snapped back at him, his stunned silence left the room quiet. I glared at him for a moment before walking away.

“I learned what came from that.” I muttered before slamming the door behind me. Don’t you think I’m aware of what happened? Such trivial things that came up after it all happened. I’m well aware of my duties.

I walked upstairs where I saw Markus. “What are you doing here?” I asked him. “I came to relieve myself sir, do you need any assistance?”

“Have you checked on Amber lately?” He smiled stating that he did. “How is she?”

“She’s alright, although she was a bit off last time we spoke. Sounded like sorrow.” He muttered, I raised my brows. “What do you mean sorrow? I told you guys to watch her closely, didn't I?” He nodded,“it wasn't a distressed aura she was giving off. It was just sadness, I don’t know what might have happened sir.” Sadness? Maybe a memory about her father, poor child.

“Continue watching her, report everything. I’ll be back in Hibus in a few weeks or so.” I patted his shoulder and left for the gateway, to get back to earth. Once I exited, I was brought back to my clan's housing point. Back in my office a familiar sealed envelope was placed on my desk. I sighed, picking it up and taking the chance to read the letter inside.
