Today I decided to walk to the gym again today. Just to think about what happened last night. She says I'm nothing to forget about... and who am I kidding I'm flattered by it. But I'm not telling her that, at any point in time... or ever.

I need to focus, the week is almost over. I made it to the gym and as per usual my coach wasn't there. At this point it didn't annoy me as much as it did back then. I greeted the receptionist and went to the bathrooms to change. When I got out, my eyes caught two familiar faces. He spotted me and waved me over with a big smile.

"Amber, remember the friend I was telling you about earlier," he asked as I nodded, turning my attention to her. Those cool violet eyes staring me down, "we've already met Markus." His brow ticked, as he glanced her way again. "You two already met?", I spoke up, giving him more information. "It was a brief interaction..." We both knew what happened but it really wasn't hard feelings between us.

Markus scratched his neck, in his mind I know he was still a bit confused. "My name's Viva though, but I didn't catch yours darling?"

"Oh, right. It's Amber," I answered. She smiled, putting her hand out. I accepted the gesture and Markus just watched with more confusion in his eyes. "I'm sorry, but I have to start my reps before my coach arrives. If that's anytime soon" I muttered that last part out. She chuckled, stuffing her hands in her pockets. "Need any assistance?"

"Um..." she's offering to help? "You do know I heard what you said to coach." She smiled again, "what I said to your sorry excuse for a coach, not to you. The annual placements are this weekend, you'll need all the help you can get."

And to think she was a bitter stuck up champion. I accepted her help, she's a champion after all. "Well act as if I'm not here right now." a growl rumbled from his throat. We both chuckled, "we'll let you join in if you want." He rolled his eyes, telling us to have fun. I got the fabric to wrap around our hands, she helped me with mine and told me to wait in the ring while she did her own. I sat in a corner while I waited, doing a few stretches until she stepped inside.

"Alright Amber, lets see what you've learned stuck around in that pretty little head of yours." She motioned for me to come at her, but I knew better than that. I watched her body language to see if she would relax a bit, but it did. All I noticed was her body starting to pivot. I braced for the jab she was going to throw at me. Her fist grazed my right shoulder leaving an opening for me to capitalize, but unbenounced to me her forearm was already placed under my neck. She chuckled, "not watching your openings. With that move I'll have won in a matter of seconds." She didn't really tell me how to avoid it but she did tell me to be aware of my opponents speed and coordination. She motioned for me to come at her again. "Amber go for her shine, she won't be able to block you," he shouted. We both glanced his way and he was chuckling to himself. I rolled my eyes and focused back on her.

This time she was distracted, I took the chance to test her awareness. I went for a fake out hit for her thigh and her reflexes were fast still. "Okay Amber, come at me. With all you've learnt so far."

"Say no more," I muttered, sending a quick jab her way. She dodged it, turning to retaliate. I spotted an opening and went for it. I got a solid connection to her side, which she didn't give me much of a reaction to. She created space between us, the look in her eyes were unreadable. I hummed to myself and approached cautiously, having my guard up because she is fast. A brush of wind passed me and my eyes connected to her fist that was an inch away from my cheek. I used my left for an uppercut towards her stomach. It felt like I was hitting a tree when my fist connected.

A faint hiss left both of our lips, in that split second I grabbed her arm and pulled her over my back. She was stunned when she landed, her eyes filled with surprise. A laugh echoed behind me, "that one goes to the rookie Viv." I backed away from her so she could get up, she was slightly pissed about what just happened. I could see it in her face. She got back into her stance again, gesturing for me to come at her again.
