“Vale’s safety during this event is my top priority Morozova. Just remember our deal.”
“UNCLE?!”
I chuckled at this whole mess. Sammy my dear friend you caught me on a bad evening. If you weren’t Angelines’ brother I would’ve thrown your ass out of my office. “I understand Mr. Terra. I’ll have my men stationed within the perimeter and in reach of Vale if anything happens. And I’ll be there myself to make sure of it.”
“I’m glad to hear that. We’ll be in touch,” he got up and walked out of the room. Leaving Vale and I to sit in some festering silence. “Look Ms. Morozova, I-” I held my hand up my hand telling her it was fine. I’m getting a headache at this rate.
“How's your search going?” I glanced her way through my curly mess of hair. “So you're actually interested in finding that woman?”
“I’m just curious,” she folded her arms. I smirked, rubbing my face again before taking another sip of my drink. “Well from what I’ve learned so far she’s not from here. Another country close by. What I still wanna know is her facial features Vale.” I leaned on my pawn waiting for her to reply, her eyes were on the paper ridden table in front of her. I patiently waited for her response but sadly my patiences is fastly dwindling for the day. “Fair skin, black hair, red eyes,” she looked up, meeting my eyes directly. “Does that sound familiar?” I sat up, piecing it together. “She looks like you?”
“My exact twin, and I don’t believe in that doppelganger shit or whatever. She didn’t sound like me at all.” I chuckled, grabbing a pen and a piece of paper. “Alright Vale, I could tell you the country, and some idea of my next move.” She nodded and I wrote everything on the paper and slid it her way. She got up from where she was sitting and came closer to read it. Her brows twitch with confusion. “We may need to make a trip there in the near future.”
She nodded letting silence fall between us again. “How is she?”
“She’s doing well. Do you have something else you want to send for her?”, “No, no. It’s just… the box I gave you to give to her for me. I..umm wrote my number in one of the books and well she replied.” She bit her lip when she finished. “You know what.. Nevermind. Thanks Ms. Morozova.” She left quickly after that.
“Shit she has it bad,” I rolled my eyes laughing. I’ll help them out a little.
Amber
“Ok, just sign here and fingerprint here” I did as he instructed me to. Once this was all done Ms. Tavern brought me back to the gym where she found me. I kept quiet while she spoke to someone on her phone. Maybe a conversation with her employee, but I don’t know.
“Well, look who decided to show.” I looked up, meeting my coach with a casual look. “Morning,” he shrugged, glancing beside me Ms. Tavern was fuming. “At this rate Mr. Coveri’ I’ll fire you and someone else to train Amber.” The anger in her voice was very present, I slowly inched myself away from it. I can’t lie and say it wasn’t really entertaining though.
He chuckled, removing his shades, giving her an unbothered look. “We have an agreement, Tavern. That's bad business if you go back on a contract.” She just glared at him while he smiled. It soon dropped as he looked past her where I was standing. “Did you get signed up?”
“She did, now get in there and show her some more skills.”
Is it me or does everything feel awkward now. We walked into the gym, note every equipment this gym had was occupied. I just followed him until we found a free spot. Well, not really free. Another fighter was busy conditioning herself, the more I watched her the more familiar she looked.
“Viva, how’ve you been?” At the sound of his voice she stopped acknowledging his presence. When she turned I realized she was the woman from the gathering. She glared at him before turning back to what she was doing before. “Ah, you still can’t be angry about that incident, champ. You still won,” he chuckled.
She continued to ignore him after some time. He sighed finally getting to the point. At this time I was on a treadmill nearby, I focused on their conversation from there. “I need you to help train her.”
“Why? Just so you could abandon her like you did to me? Are you serious Ze’ev?” She growled but he wasn’t really fazed. “Look Hale, I have something that really needs my attention right now. I need a little help balancing this out until it's handled,” he stated. Business? What type of business?
“I don’t give a fuck about your business. Train her yourself.” She walked away from him after that I stopped listening. I got off the treadmill moving to the weights area. He came back with a bit of a scowl but I didn’t mind him. I grabbed some three pound weights and started my sets.
“Don’t fatigue yourself too much. We have to work on your footwork more, then it’s back to some techniques you could learn.” He sat on an unoccupied bench strolling through his phone. I rolled my eyes and continued what I was doing.

A grunt left me as my head the floor again. This time I didn’t get up because if I did I’ll get tackled again. A figure walked into my peripheral,“get up Monroe, you still have to learn this.” I groaned getting up to my feet again. I got myself ready this time to try to get out of it.
He lunged at me again, moving to grab hold of my legs. I moved away quickly, before he could do so. “Amber, if you're in a corner of that cage tell me, are you going to be able to do that?” He breathed out frustrated, I shook my head waiting for what he had to say next. “You know if your previous show of effort was just a show to get into Tavern’s good graces, then you could just step away from this.” he muttered leaving the ring.
My brow ticked at his words, what the hell is your problem dude? “Are you coming?” I looked his way as he stood near the punching bags, I followed him after all I did want to punch something. Like his bull-headed skull, “relax Amber. Happy thoughts.” Tora kinda pulled me away from the violent tendencies for a bit.
“Well, my father in exile,” I turned, seeing a familiar face. “Mrs. Scott, it’s a surprise seeing you here,” he uttered. “I usually don’t. Amber, what a surprise.”
“Yea….yeah it is” I murmured. What in the absolute hell is Mrs. Scott doing here right now!? Those dark eyes of hers stared at me and I really didn’t know what to say. “Oh, sorry. It’s a total surprise seeing you here after all.” I nodded, then she turned to my coach.
“Have you seen Viva?”, “She left the gym a while ago…”
I moved back into my thoughts. I had enough of hearing others' conversations. I walked away from them to give a bit more privacy, moving to a punching bag to a far corner. I grabbed a pair of gloves and slipped them on, tightening them around my risks.
“This will be a long week.”
Vale
I was back in my office getting some work out of the way. I would have left this to my assistant to sort through but I decided to give her a break. And there were some interesting offerings that were over sea’s. I think I’ll give them some thought though. Pushing everything aside from this morning though, Amber’s call was still unexpected. She still hasn’t replied to my text.
I grabbed my phone hoping to get a text from her, but nothing. “What's up with you Amber,” I rubbed my face. I texted her again before going back to my work.
‘Text me if you need anything… Okay’
