Chapter Seven

Once Serena left the store her stomach started to grumble a bit.

"U-uhm...Arthur. Do you mind if we go somewhere else to have dinner?" She asked curiously

"Of course, where'd you like to go?" He asked

"Its a place not far from here called the Palace." She said with a smile

"Is there any real reason you'd rather go there instead?" He asked

"You'll see when we get there." She said with a grin

They left the mall and Serena gave him the instructions to the diner before the two of them went into the diner. They were placed at a table by the window and she soon saw a male come up to them. She got up and hugged him with a grin. "Hi papa, its nice to see you again." She said happily

"Its nice to see you as well Serena, how is your mother treating you?" The male asked

"Eh, up to today like crap." She said with a shrug

The male then realized that she was there with someone. "Who's he?" The male asked

"Dad, I want you to meet my friend Arthur Kirkland. Arthur, I want you to meet my dad Mark." She said with a smile

Arthur got up and shook her father's hand. "Its a pleasure to meet the father of Serena. You have a wonderful daughter sir."

"Like wise, So tell me Arthur, have you been treating my daughter well?" He asked

Serena placed her hands over her face as her father laughed. "I'm messing with him Serena!" He said patting her shoulders

"Do you have to do that to every guy who I take here dad?! Why can't you just not tease all the people that I know?!" She said looking to her father flustered blushing deep red

Arthur covered his mouth from laughing at how Serena was acting. "Serena...you really are an interesting woman." Arthur said trying not to laugh

"Are you being sarcastic with me Arthur?!" She asked pouting

He couldn't handle how she was acting and laughed holding his side, after his laughing fit he smiled at her. "No Serena, I wasn't." He said smiling

She sat down pouting blushing. "You two are mean."

"Serena, if I didn't pick on you, you wouldn't know how much I care for you." Her father said before kissing her cheek softly

"Yeah, yet I get stuck living with people who don't care." Serena sulked

Arthur looked to the two confused. "I don't think I get what she's talking about."

Serena sighed. "My parents are divorced Arthur, My mother got the rights to all of us kids and every now and then I get to see my father. Even though I'm the only one who wants to live with our father I get crap for it because I was the one who saw what our mother did many years ago." She said sadly as she looked to Arthur

"Ah...Yes. That still gets me, but you are old enough not to live there anymore. You know fully well you can live with me if you want to." Her father said with a slight sigh

"I can?" She asked shocked

"Of course, I miss all of you guys, but if you are the only one that cares then the spare bedroom can be yours Serena."

She smiled happily at her father before she hugged him tightly. "I'd really like that, maybe the others will start to see the problem with how they act."

He hugged her back. "Alright, We'll get your things tomorrow. Tonight you'll have to endure them though."

"That's fine...But I will have to say this, Arthur is staying with me at mom's place. He's having his own family issues."

"Oh?"

She nodded her head. "Its a touchy subject though."

"Alright, then I won't pry. I'll just ask that the two of you pitch in."

Serena smiled. "Well I go to college. Lucky for me Its my day off from college."

"Do you have just day classes or day and night classes Serena?" Her father asked

"Just Day, after an accident with a girl being raped they don't do night classes at the college I go to."

"Alright, that works. When does your latest class get out?" Her father asked

"Hm...4 pm." She said thinking "And that's on Tuesdays and Thursdays."

"Well then, this all works out! If you wish you can work here with me on your time off from College Serena."

Serena smiled at her father. "I'd really like that Papa, I miss being able to spend time with you."

"Well we'll talk more tomorrow, now enjoy your time away from trouble." Her father said before leaving.
