Chapter Nineteen

Arthur sighed out as he got to the apartment that he had shared with Alfred, Alfred promised him that he'd help him find the woman he loved and get her to see why it took him so long. So far...it wasn't going that well. When Arthur got home Alfred was waiting for him. "So....how'd it go?"

Arthur sighed out sadly as he slouched on the couch. "I think I just made her even more scared of me...she won't even give me time to talk to her. I...I want to be able to be with her again but it's hard when I can't even get her to talk to me like she used to." Arthur said sadly

"You said that she had a big family yeah? Why not go to them and see what's up with her?" Alfred asked

Arthur sat up straight as he looked at Alfred. "That's...actually not a bad idea. I think I will." He said before he went to leave out again.

Arthur first tried the place he last saw them only to hear that they moved somewhere else. So he went looking online for Serena's parents names only to find were they lived. Which was rather close to the school, so he went to the address and knocked on the door only to get Alice who was stunned to see him. "Oh...hey Arthur. What's up?"

"I've ran into Serena but...she doesn't seem all that happy to see me." Arthur said sadly

"Come in...you need to know a lot that has happened in the last four year."

Arthur went inside, and he saw that it was rather clean-which shocked him. Alice took him to the living room and had him sit down before she sat down by him. "How to place this...Serena has been dealing with a lot of stuff. First when you had left, she was rather depressed for about half a year." Alice said before she sighed out

"She didn't do anything to herself...did she?" Arthur asked concerned

"She...She had...She had cut herself so bad that she had to get therapy for a while just to get her to stop cutting herself. She now takes medication for her depression."

Arthur frowned as he heard what had happened with Serena. "Anything else I should be aware of?"

Alice nodded her head. "Oh yea...that's just the tip of the shit storm ice burg."

Arthur leaned forward as he was started to regret waiting so long just to be able to see her. "Go on...tell me everything I'll listen to everything you say Alice."

"Oh...Arthur you're here. Serena doesn't live here anymore." Maria said shaking her head

"I know that, but she's been pushing me away from her...I need to see why." Arthur said as he looked at the brunette female

Maria sighed out frowning. "You're really going to wish you didn't."

"Why do you say that?"

"Serena...she was raped twice on two different occasions. It's come down to the point where she does everything she can to hide herself." Maria explained

Arthur's green eyes widen. "S-She was..." He started to say before he looked down. "How long ago?"

"The first time was two years ago, she was cornered and raped by one of her teachers, the second time was when she had gotten out of work. She had to close and well it turned out to be a bad day for her to it..."Alice stated as she looked down "She had been raped by one of her co-workers who had closed with her. Granted the guy doesn't work there no more-but it still makes her feel scared every time she goes to work."

Arthur was silent as he was trying to work out in his head what had happened to the woman he loved so dearly. As he did Serena's parents came down from their room. "Arthur, we weren't expecting to see you again." Mark said shocked

"I...I managed to find a loop hole in things, I wished to make things right with your daughter but she won't even give me the time of day." Arthur said sadly

"Say no more, she'll be having dinner tonight here, so sit tight while we get her."

"Doesn't she have her own car though?" Arthur asked

"She lent it to her brother so he could see his daughter, she's stranded at where she works. We need to get her." Her mother said shaking her head

"Oh...I see."
