Chapter Five: MiOuis’ and Dates
Time Check: 8:30pm
I arrived at the MiOuis’ in this fancy dress since this place is a little bit formal. I made sure of it that I don’t look overdressed. Nandito lang naman ako para kumain. I’m not here to have some romantic flings. Or maybe, you could add 5% of romance to it.
Asan na ba ‘tong si… Sino nga ulit? Aish! I am that awesome. I’m telling you.
“7pm… I’ll wait for you.”
I’ll wait for you, I’ll wait for you ka diyan. Hindi rin naman pala. Girls, Take note, Huwag sasagutin ang lalaking hindi marunong maghintay.
“Andi! Here!”
Then I heard someone called out for my name. An unfamiliar voice. Naghintay pala siya.
Ohh, He looks dressed. Naging tao na siya!
“Hindi kita napansin agad. I hate to say this but… You look good today.” I’m such a… I don’t know. Define me.
“Hindi naman. You look so beautiful as always.” I smiled back. I know, I’m pretty. A lot of people tell me that. What’s new?
I was expecting for him to pull my chair out like the gentlemen always do. But he didn’t. He just said. “Upo ka na… Let’s get on with this date.”
Minutes have passed. He was trying to impress by blabbering about everything good about him. He was talking about Basketball echos echos, eklat eklat. I’m not really interested. So I was just sitting there, nodding my head like “yeah” while drinking some wine. [Party In The USA]
“You hungry?” Haaaay!
“All your nonsense talks made me so hungry” I can now define myself. Straight-forward, Pranka if that’s what you call it in tagalog.
“Sorry for that.” He calls for a waiter and asks, “Andi, anong sa’yo?”
“One Cacao Brasato di Maiale, please.” I turn to look at the waiter. Kahit nasa isang date ako, nag-sho-shooting star pa din. He looks very familiar though. I look at my date. He looks anxious. “Ikaw, Bert, what’s yours? Nahihirapan ka yata pumili, Hindi mo ba ma-pronounce yung mga words? O di mo afford?”He l
And I’m mean too.
“Ahh, Hinde. Na-pre-pressure lang talaga ako kapag nasa harap kita.” He says. “May I order one Brodetto d’Aragosta, please. Anyways, it’s Bret. Not Bert.”
And I’m not interested into a guy named Bret or Bert or whoever this person is.
“Is that all, sir?” That voice sounds very familiar too.
“Dude! Max! You work here?” Ahh, si Max. Max? Max?! Nagtratrabaho dito?! For what reason? Is he following me? Am I that assuming?
“Is that all, sir?” He looks serious and pissed off. Is he jealous? I, once again, ask, How assuming am I?
“Ang snob naman ng mga waiter dito…” I said as I look into his eyes. There was a little bit of jealousy in those pretty brown eyes. I am assuming.
Then biglang lumapit yung… Manager niya ata ‘to.
“Max, Faster! That pretty single lady on table #3 is waiting for you to take her order. Alam mo namang ikaw ang nagpapadami ng mga customers dito, Mr. Heartthrob Waiter.” Ahhh… NGANGA! The manager looks so flirty for me.
