"Again!"
"Ugh, why are you so bad at this? Try again, idiot."
"Wrong, wrong, all wrong. I'm starting to lose my patience."
"What the hell is wrong with you today? You were doing so good the last three weeks we've been practicing, so why are you suddenly doing bad?"
Kazuha sighs and throws himself back on the bed. "I think I've exhausted myself. I need a break from practicing. I'm not doing good and my fingers are starting to hurt."
Scaramouche grabs Kazuha's guitar and places it leaning against the wall. "Well I guess you could have a break, but what should we do?"
Kazuha hums. "How about we go to the mall? I need to buy Thoma a present."
Scaramouche nods. "Alright, let's go."
The two males walk out of Kazuha's house. The mall is about a 15-minute walk away from his home. On their way to the mall, the duo talk about their musical interests. Since they have similar tastes in music, they exchange playlists. It's the middle of spring, meaning there are signs of rain even though the sun is out. Neither of them brought an umbrella so Kazuha hopes they make it back before it starts raining.
After a while of walking in silence, Kazuha decides to ask Scaramouche a certain question that might annoy him. "Hey, Scara?"
Scaramouche hums in response. Kazuha hesitates a bit before asking his question. "Uhm, how come we've been practicing for all this time yet I've never been to your house?"
Scaramouche sighs. "I'd rather not say much, but let's just say I'd rather not be at home. It's fine hanging out at your house like we've been doing all this time. Unless... you don't want to meet at your house anymore?"
Kazuha frantically shakes his head in panic. "No, no! I was just curious."
The rest of the walk to the mall is a bit awkward after Kazuha asked that question. It didn't make it any better that they had to stand tightly together on the subway because it was packed. They were uncomfortable by the close proximity. Kazuha could practically feel Scaramouche's breath on his face. Everytime they would accidentally make eye contact, Kazuha would quickly avert his gaze somewhere else. He remembered last week's incident where they fell asleep on eachothers shoulders. His face would become red and he would start mentally panicking. After the torturous and uncomfortable subway ride, they still had to walk for a few more minutes until they arrived at the mall.
They finally made it inside the mall and Kazuha walked straight to the bookstore. He already had in mind what he would buy Thoma for their friendship anniversary, and he was convinced it would be the perfect present.
After walking around and checking each shelf Scaramouche asks Kazuha, "What are you gonna buy Thoma?"
Kazuha proudly smirks. "A cook book! He's been really into cooking lately so I think he will love this! I'm thinking of getting one for regular meals and another for desserts."
"You look very enthusiastic about this gift." Scaramouche says.
Kazuha smiles and says, "Of course! It's for my best friend!"
After searching, Kazuha finally finds the cookbooks he wants to buy and goes to the cash register to checkout. Kazuha pays for the books feeling very satisfied. The duo walk around the mall aimlessly, wondering on what to do next.
Somehow, after a lot of convincing from Kazuha, they both end up at an arcade. Kazuha enthusiastically looks around for games he wants to play while Scaramouche walks over to buy a card with tickets on it.
