Christmas Special

Kazuha and Scaramouche were never big fans of christmas. They didn't have many pleasant memories of Christmas, nor did they ever have a family to enjoy the holiday with. Thoma and Kazuha would buy gifts for each other and that's as festive as it got for Kazuha. On the other hand, Scaramouche didn't have any close friends or family members to buy gifts for. Since Childe is very popular, he focused on buying other friends a present. It was kind of like a mutual agreement between him and Scaramouche to not buy each other anything, so that they wouldn't be an inconvenience to each other.

Yet, this year, Kazuha and Scaramouche have decided to get in the Christmas spirit and celebrate their first proper Christmas together as a couple for the very first time.

Kazuha is currently in the mall wandering around looking for a present for Scaramouche. Thoma happened to tag along to help Kazuha.

"Hmm, I'm not sure what to buy him." Kazuha rummages through the store shelves trying to look for a present to buy for Scaramouche.

Thoma sighs. "We've been here for hours. Honestly, knowing how Scaramouche is, he would like any present as long as it's from you."

Kazuha felt like slamming his head against the nearest wall. He knows Thoma has a point. However, he wanted to buy a present that Scaramouche would like for sure.

Seeing how stressed his best friend was becoming, Thoma decided to approach this situation in a rational manner. "Okay, what does Scaramouche like the most?"

"Me."

Thoma stayed silent and gave Kazuha a side eye.

Kazuha mischievously laughed. "Okay, okay! All jokes aside, he definitely likes music a lot and... hmm, cats! He likes cats."

Thoma brought his hand to his chin as he thought about possible gifts that are related to cats or music. Suddenly, a little kid passed by with a huge cat stuffed animal twice his size. Kazuha and Thoma gave each other a knowing look, then they began trying to catch up with the kid.

Thoma took the initiative to talk to the kid first. Kazuha is good with kids but not as good as Thoma. "Hi there! May I know where you got that cute stuffed animal from?"

The kid had trouble seeing Kazuha and Thoma because of the big stuffed animal blocking his view. He places the stuffed animal on the floor and looks at the two males towering over him. At first, the kid was hesitant to answer, clearly nervous that two strangers were talking to him. Thoma crouched down and smiled at the kid. "My friend here wants to buy one because he thinks it's really cute! Could you help us out?"

The kid nodded, "It's over by the toy section."

Thoma pats the little boy's head. "Thank you so much! You were a big help." Thoma waves goodbye to the boy before walking off with Kazuha trailing behind.

Kazuha and Thoma make their way to the toy section of the mall. They search for it store by store, aisle by aisle, and they somehow get distracted by some toys. When they finally got back on track, they found the stuffed animal. Kazuha quickly grabbed it and he gave it a big hug. "It's extremely soft and squishy! I think he'll like it."

Kazuha happily prances to the cash register. He's eager for Christmas to come already so he can see Scaramouche's reaction.

Childe takes a big sip from his almost empty cup. His patience is running low and he wants this shopping trip to end as soon as possible. "Man, you've been stressing about buying a gift for Kazuha the whole month. You know, I think he'd appreciate anything you give him."
