The school bell rings, indicating summer break is finally in session. Kazuha stuffs his school supplies into his backpack. At the door of his classroom, a voice calls for him.

"Kazuuuuuuhaaaaa!" A happy Tomo is eagerly waiting for Kazuha.

Kazuha looks around the classroom and notices his classmates are all whispering and giving judgmental looks. Kazuha becomes shy, knowing his classmates are all staring at him. His face heats up as he hurries out of the classroom.

Kazuha bonks Tomo's head. "You embarrassed me!"

Tomo holds his head in pain. "Ouch!" He stands in the hallway, waiting for the pain to subside as Kazuha continues walking down the hallway. Tomo runs up to Kazuha and walks by his side.

They both walk out of the school, and they take in a big breath of fresh summer air.

"It's finally summer!" Tomo grabs Kazuha's hand and intertwines it with his. Kazuha shyly hides his face, but his heart beats like crazy.

"Let's go to my house. My mom said she would cook us dinner tonight."

Kazuha nods, "Okay."

The pair make their way to Tomo's house. His house is only a subway ride away. The whole time, Tomo never let go of Kazuha's hand. Kazuha would protest and get mad every time they would see someone from school, but Tomo didn't care. His carefree attitude was heavily influenced by the happy spirit of summer break.

When they finally went to Tomo's house, they both sat on the couch and played video games. Tomo was more skilled at video games than Kazuha by a landslide. Despite Kazuha being aware of how trash he is at video games, he didn't mind playing as long as it made Tomo happy.

After a while, they both got tired of playing video games, so they cuddled up under some blankets and watched a movie instead. The movie was long, and Kazuha paid very close attention to it. Tomo, on the other hand, fell asleep.

Kazuha heard keys jangling at the front door, so he kissed Tomo on the cheek before getting up from the couch to greet Tomo's mom.

"Oh, dear. Hi, Kazuha!" Tomo's mom noticed Kazuha standing at the front door, and she greeted him with a smile.

"Hi! Here, let me help you." Kazuha took some groceries from Tomo's mom's hands and helped her put them inside the house.

As they both took out the groceries from the bags Tomo's mom asked, "Where's Tomo?"

Kazuha sighs. "We were watching a movie and he fell asleep on the couch."

"That boy! All he ever does is sleep! Go wake him up and tell him to help us."

Kazuha pouted. "He's sleeping so soundly, though. I don't want to wake him up."

Tomo's mom sighs in defeat. "You're too good for him, Kazuha."

Kazuha's face turns beet red, and Tomo's mom notices. She giggles. "Don't get all shy! You're so cute, Kazuha."

Kazuha hides his face behind his hands, clearly embarrassed. "Can we just start cooking?"

They both begin cooking. Kazuha isn't a good cook, so he helps with simple things like passing ingredients or chopping vegetables.

By the time they finished, the sun was setting. Tomo woke up as soon as dinner was finished being prepared. The three of them sat at the dining table, munching down on their food. Tomo praised the food the whole time he was eating.

The delicious food put Tomo in good spirits. Since he was in a good mood, he felt like sharing good news. "Mom! Guess what? Kazuha has a competition this month that decides if he makes it to nationals!"
