Akira sat patiently on the couch with Yor and Anya as Loid put on his glasses and held a piece of paper up to the light.
"Right," he cleared his throat. "We've been over this, yes?"
Anya and Yor nodded vigorously.
"Remember, this is why we've been on so many outings," Loid said seriously, shuffling through the papers in his hands. "What do you guys do on a daily basis?"
Akira's hand shot up and he blurted, "We go to the opera, eat-"
"At fancy restruants!" Anya interrupted, grinning. Akira shot her a glare. "And go to the park!"
Loid nodded, "Good. What's our address?"
"128 Park Avenue, West Berlint." Akira said quickly, knowing Anya wouldn't know the answer.
"Yes," Loid said approvingly. "Next question..."
(I forgor... :p)
Akira walked swiftly through Eden Academy, feeling the prickling glares of the professors studying them from the buildings. He stuffed his hands into his hoodie pocket and averted his gaze to the stone ground.
Assembly Hall A, Akira thought silently incase he needed to know it later on.
"HELP!" A squeaky, small voice yelped. "Help!"
Loid turned to look at the short boy stuck inside a gutter, struggling to push himself out.
"Well," Akira said dryly, "that's not suspicious at all."
Anya scampered over but Loid put a hand in front of her, stepped into the gutter, and hauled the boy out. There was a slight gasp at the view of Loid getting his pants wet and spraying the others with the dirty water.
"Don't worry," Loid said loudly. "We've got extra clothes!"
A second later, Akira was dressed in a new shining black suit and watching Loid straighten out his black jacket before looking up and smiling. Akira had left his blue jacket- reluctantly- at their apartment.
"Thanks," Akira said.
Loid shrugged and started walking again, making it further into Assembly Hall A. They had just started moving again when a rumbling shook the ground. Alarmed screams came from behind them and Akira twisted around to find a herd of animals and jumped back with a shout.
"Loid- Dad!" Akira blurted out. "Look!"
Loid turned around and his eyes widened before choking out the words, "I hope this isn't part of the test."
"Cow!" Anya squeaked in alarm. "Aaaakiiraa!" She leapt towards her brother and grabbed his arm tightly.
"Ack," Akira fought the urge to shove her away.
Yor stumbled forward and suddenly, she was gone. Akira blinked hard, once, twice. And there she was again:
Standing with a single finger touching the lead cow that looked like was leading the stampede. The cow snorted, and collapsed to the stone ground. Akira staggered as the floor below him shook.
"Y-Yor?" Loid coughed.
Yor turned as if only realizing what she'd done. "Oh! Sorry! I didn't-"
"So cool!" Anya said, pumping her fists. Akira glanced down at her and silently slipped away from her grasp, rubbing the spot where she'd touched him and smoothing down his suit again.
"Your shirt is ripped," Akira commented, pointing at Yor's clothing.
Loid grinned, "Well, our clothes are all dusty anyways." He wipped out another set of clothes and another moment later, they were in a new pair.
"This is really weird," Akira whispered to Anya as they continued walking.
"Papa's ready!" Anya answered brightly.
"He sure is," Akira muttered. He tugged at his new suit and sighed. "Kinda exhuasting."
Anya shrugged, "Not really! It's exciting!"
"Waku waku?" Akira guessed, knowing what she was going to say.
"Wake waku!" Anya agreed brightly.
Loid looked at them with a faint smile on his lips as they entered Eden Academy. The family in front of them was called into the interview room and Akira sat down in the chair the boy had been sitting in. He felt... nervous.
"Don't be," Anya whispered to him. "We're going to get through this. Easy peasy."
Akira managed a shaky smirk, "Lemon squeezy."
