"Out everyone," Adi commanded as he walked behind me into the resting chambers once the royal court ended. The Queen's maids who came to attend to me immediately left and so did the surrounding soldiers, fear clearly evident in their eyes for he sounded angry and the very next moment Adi held my hand, spinned me around and pulled him into his embrace.

Intially I was confused if he is angry but the moment I looked into his eyes I realized it was pain in disguise.

"Do you really have to meet her?" he asked in a low voice.

"Adi..." I slowly replied placing my hand on his chest, "please just listen to...."

I paused when I felt his hand slowly leaving my waist and him stepping back without breaking eye contact.

"Listen Adi," I said a little louder holding onto his hand.  He shook his head subconsiously in frustration but stayed anyway.

"I want her out of my life too," I continued, "as much as you do....but I also want a closure...You and I cannot constantly be in fear that a witch's little whisper is all it would take to ruin our relationship. We are better than that. Our love is better than that I am better than that....all I want to do is prove it to you and to myself....."

Adi listened with a blank face and did not say a word.

"It's my only chance gain back my self respect." "Please, I beg you," I requested,"stay by my side."

Adi looked down and away.

"There are certain things in life, love, that are way too previous." "Way too precious," he emphasized, "to be taking chances, no matter what the reason is." "To me our marriage is one of them," he said his voice breaking a little, "It's a pity you don't feel the same."

That statement made my eyes tear up.

"Adi, your words are hurtful," I said almost on the verge of tears.

Adi looked down and gently removed my hand freeing me from his words.

"I'll go work on the security arrangements," he said, "Do my due diligence in making sure my wife doesn't run away again." and walked away but was met with the general the moment he opened the door.

"Your highness, here are the...." the general came forward with some documents.

"Not now, general," I said and tried to walk away but felt the general's hand on my chest stopping me as his eyes went to Vaishu.

He probably noticed her tears.

"Did you hurt her?" he asked in anger turning his eyes towards me.

As if fighting with my wife is not enough, I now have a brother to answer.....

"Not more than how much she is going to hurt herself," I replied and walked away removing his hand from blocking me.
