I woke up to sunlight pouring in from a window. I shielded my eyes from the bright light and sat up. "Good, your up." I heard someone say. I looked over to my right, and saw the twins sitting on a different couch, staring at me.
Oh god, It wasn't a dream. I thought to myself, This is really happening! "Yeah," I murmured.
"Well have you made up your mind!?!" The one named Kira asked me excitedly.
"About what?" I asked stretching and yawning.
"Are you going to let us help you?" squealed Lita.
I forgot all about that. "Uh..." I heard footsteps and saw Samuel and James come in. "Look, if you guys are being serious, then why don't you prove to me that you have powers?"
"No problem!" Kira said brightly, "Sam, how do you want to do this?"
"Let's go to the meadow," replied Samuel, "there's tons of room there."
"Okay let's go!" said Lita, "I'll lead the way."
We followed Lita out of the house, and for the first time, I was able to see the outside of it. It was in the middle of a forest, hidden by the many trees and vegetation that grew, and shaded by a thick canopy. Every little thing was new to me, yet again, and every sounds and feel of the forest made me nervous.
A plant brushed against my leg, and I jumped startled, crashing into James. He laughed and murmured, "Okay, you have a lot to learn." I felt my face grow red and I looked down, I was afraid of a plant, I scolded myself.
We walked for about five more minutes, before we reached a large clearing. Sam turned around and a smile slowly spread across his face, "Are you ready to see some magic?"
"Some magic that's not logical?" James added.
I rolled my eyes, "Yeah, yeah, sure."
"Okay then, Kira, you go first." Sam told her. She nodded and turned to me,
"Okay Leila, I can talk to animals."
I shrugged, "Prove it."
Kira raised her head, and James came up behind me and said, "Might want to cover your ears." I covered my ears, yet I was still able to hear a loud, high pitched shriek come from Kira.
I removed my hands from my ears and looked around, nothing happened. I turned back to Kira, and saw five or six wolves surrounding her. I stumbled backwards in fear, but Kira said, "Leila it's okay. They're my friends." I raised my eyebrows, these weren't tamed dogs, these were wild animals! "They say hi!"
I took a deep breath, and said, "Whatever, I don't know that, for all I know you could be lying."
"Fine then, James it's your turn," murmured Sam. Kira growled, and suddenly all of the wolves stalked off. Did she just... no, she can't talk to animals, there's no way...
James stepped forward to me and said, "Okay, I am able to see the past, present, and future. Want me to prove it? For your past, I see a little girl, long, wavy brown hair and bright purple eyes. She's locked in her bedroom, and she's drawing a picture of her family. All of them are holding hands and are outside, big smiles drawn on their faces, and the girl can only wish that what she was drawing became a reality."
I froze, when I was eight, I drew a picture like that, and I was wishing that what I drew became true... I held in the tears that began to blur my vision looked down, waiting for him to continue.
James cleared his throat, "Now there's no use in telling you your present, because obviously your standing right in front of me, so moving on to future. I see you practicing your powers in this very meadow, you are extremely powerful Leila..."
My chest felt heavy, why did he have to bring up the past? Remember, there's always a logical explanation, I reminded myself. "So... you probably stalked me or something."
"But how would I if you were locked in your bedroom your whole life?" asked James. I didn't reply, I felt myself beginning to believe them, and I didn't want that.
"My turn," said Sam. He stood in front of me and said, "I bear the power of illusions, I can make you see, whatever I want you to see. Just... don't freak out." Sam began to stare at me hard, and suddenly, my vision became all clouded. When it cleared, I saw that I was back at my house, in my bedroom.
I no longer saw Kira, Lita, or James, just Sam and my bedroom. "H-how?" Sam grinned, "Believe us now?"
My vision clouded again and I was back in the meadow, with everyone once more. "Lita's turn." said Sam. I didn't even think I needed to see Lita's power, I think I believed them.
"My powers by far the coolest!" Lita declared. "I can turn invisible, and make others around me invisible as well. Watch." Lita suddenly disappeared before my very eyes.
This is no joke, I realized as Lita reappeared, they are serious. But do I really have powers too? "Leila look down," said Lita. I looked down, and gasped, I was see through. Lita began to laugh, and I suddenly reappeared.
"You guys weren't kidding," I murmured.
"Well?!" Kira began, "Are you in?"
I thought about it some more, this is real... right? I looked up from the ground and at them, "Yes."
