Everyone cheered at my decision. "But wait," I said, "Under one condition, you need to explain who this Thanatos is."

Sam nodded, "Very well. Thanatos is ancient. Hundreds of years ago, he traded his mortality for power. He became immortal and practiced dark magic. As the years progressed, he became more powerful and dangerous. He seeked one thing, and still does to this day, full power. He is known among our kind as the son of Lucifer himself. He could wipe out thousands of humans with a point of his finger. He craved to kill, but he didn't want to kill alone.

He began to curse humans. He didn't curse them to make them suffer, but cursed them to follow him. He granted them powers and he slowly began to build up a army of people like me and you. Each one had a color that wasn't a normal eye color, but Thanatos's eyes were the only one of it's kind. His eyes were completely white, and he had snake like pupils. Thanatos is at the point where he can demolish the entire human race, all he needs are his followers, and he becomes more and more powerful. Luckily, some of us decided to turn against him, and plan to overthrow him, but we are no match compared to his level of powers.

It was said that God would make a single person, worthy and capable of defeating Thanatos. They would be born into a family of humans, and would be very powerful," Sam paused and stared at me, "and you Leila, are that person."

Thanatos sounded terrifying, and I was expected to kill him!? "How did you guys know where I was?" I asked.

"I can see present, remember?" said James.

"Look, I think you got this all wrong, I can't defeat Thanatos." I said.

"Well you were born into a family of human, were you not?" asked Kira. I nodded. "Leila, your the only one."

"Then who is Aeron?" I asked.

"Aeron is one of Thanatos's closest followers," said Lita, "He is able to bend with fire and has a resistance to it."

"I know this is a lot to take in-" began Sam.

"When do we start?" I asked.

A grin crossed his face, "Glad to see your so eager. We'll start your training tomorrow. Today you'll spend settling into your new house."

...

"I'm so glad you've decided to stay! Here's a room for you, right this way." Kira was leading me through the house, which it turned out was pretty big. There were five bedrooms, all of which were bigger than my old one. She led me into one of them, which was pretty much empty besides a dresser and a fairly comfortable looking bed.

"Sorry there isn't a whole lot of things, but I can take you to buy some later." Kira said.

"You mean I'll be leaving the house?" I asked, though I realized maybe it was a stupid question.

"Of course, you have to pick things out that you like!" Kira said excitedly. "That's right, you've never been out there... I can't wait to take you!"

"What kind of stuff would I buy?" I asked.

"Clothes, books, posters, anything you want really." Kira replied. "And money is no problem. Sam can give them the illusion he's handed them enough."

"That seems wrong." I said.

"Hey, we need this stuff." Kira said. "Food, and clothes, posters and books." She smiled. "Oh, and when we're out there with the humans, don't ever take these off." She pulled something off the dresser, putting them on my head. My vision darkened.

"What are these?" I asked. Kira laughed.

"You've never seen sunglasses before?" She asked in surprise. "Humans use them to block the sun from their face, but we use these so that they don't see our eyes." I took them off, looking at them. I think maybe I'd seen some people walking by wearing something like these before... "We should take you shopping tomorrow!"

"I don't think so." Samuel had come to the door. "She needs to learn some control before she goes out there."

"Oh come on! How much excitement can shopping cause?" Kira protested.

"When it comes to you, a lot." Sam said.

"She needs clothes! Hers were destroyed in the fire." Kira said. Sam sighed.

"We'll go out for a little while, then we're coming right back." He said.

"Never worry. Sam is a pushover." Kira whispered. She grabbed her own sunglasses, and Sam grabbed his. They headed for the door.

"Where are you guys going?" James asked, sitting on the couch, holding a controller.

"To the store. We are not going to be gone long." Sam said pointedly.

"I guess video games were absolutely needed too?" I said. I knew what they were. I'd seen kids playing them through a window across the street.

"Are you kidding?" James said. "Absolutely!" We headed for the door, and I stopped. It felt strange to be going out there, almost wrong. I stood there a minute.

"Are you coming?" Kira asked. So I stepped out. Stepped out into the world...
