Derek drove me home and dropped me off at the house. The others were surprised to see me home so soon, but I explained the situation to Sam who was, after having a discussion with Patriarch over the phone, able to plan out a schedule for me. I would have to stay with the elemental sorcerers on Monday through Wednesday, then the rest of the week I'd stay with them.
"So how are Derek's friends?" Asked Lita.
"Yeah, are they as weird as Derek?" James asked, "Oh wait... that's not possible."
I rolled my eyes in amusement, "They're alright. We haven't exactly talked very much, but they seem like nice people."
"Well I'm glad that we can trust them." Kira said cheerfully.
For the first time in awhile, James actually paused his video game. "Whoa whoa whoa, who said anything about trusting them? There's a fine line between being allies and trusting people."
"James give it a rest," Sam said under his breath.
"What? But Sam you're the one who said always stay alert when-"
"I know... but these people are against Thanatos too. If we keep fighting with them, it would be pointless. We both want the same objective, right? Bring Thanatos down. If we fight with them, that's just what Thanatos wants. We'd take each other out without him having to even raise a finger."
"...so... you're saying I have to be nice to DEREK!?" James exclaimed.
Sam did a facepalm. "James, just don't become enemies, alright?"
"You couldn't give me an easy task, could you?" James muttered, resuming his video games.
Kira giggled as Lita shook her head, "Aye yi." She looked over at Sam, "Hey Sam, what time is it?"
He glanced down at his watch, "Around six."
"Okay," Lita stood up, "I'm going to start making dinner..." she began to walk away, but stopped in her tracks, "Oh yeah, Leila! Want to help me?"
James flashed Lita a look, "Are you sure that's a good idea?"
"What's that supposed to mean?" I asked seriously, despite knowing he was kidding.
"Oh no, I died." He retorted, purposely killing his character, causing a 'Game Over' screen to appear. "Whelp, bathroom break." He got up and left without another word.
Lita shook her head yet again, "Sometimes with that boy I swear... just ignore him. Anyways, you want to help?"
I nodded curtly, "Sure!"
Lita beamed, "Then come on," she grabbed my hand and pulled me towards the kitchen, "You are going to love this! I have an awesome apron I just know you'll love!" I could already tell that one thing was for sure, Lita is definitely a completely different person once she was in the kitchen.
"Kira says your food is good... Do you cook a whole lot?" I asked, trying to start a conversation. I really didn't know Lita all that well, did I?
"All the time!" She replied cheerfully. If I ever get a job, I'll probably be a chef or something. Or just a housewife, if I ever fall in love. I know it's weird and all to want to be a housewife in the twenty first century, but I think I'd enjoy it! Think you'll ever fall in love Leila?" That question caught me off guard.
"Fall in love?!" I exclaimed. "I don't really know about that..."
"Come on, everyone should fall in love." She continued, pulling random things from around the kitchen. "At least in a perfect world. I hope all of us do..." Wow she was quite the hopeless romantic wasn't she? Who would have guessed... "The question is who... Come to think of it, you spend quite a bit of time with James." Lita smirked.
