I woke up on the couch, and instantly became flustered. I realized that I had fallen asleep watching James play video games, and now I was leaning against an asleep James, my head on his shoulder. I quickly got up, my mind on Derek. I walked down our hallway and knocked softly on my door, "Derek?" When I didn't get a reply, I decided to open the door. After I had, it revealed the ice sorcerer on my bed, surrounded by complex looking books. As I came closer, I realized he was sleeping, and his glasses were still on, sitting crookedly on his nose. "Derek?" I shook his shoulder.

His eyes fluttered open, and he sat up abruptly, toppling off my bed.

"Whoa! Are you alright!?" I managed to get out between my laughter.

He rubbed his head and groaned, "Yeah.." He took off the glasses and got back up onto the bed.

"So did you figure it out?" I asked, taking a seat beside him.

"Um," he flipped through a number of papers he had, "I think so..."

An anxious grin crossed my face, "Really!? Then what is it?"

He began to read from one of his papers, "There's a thin line between light and darkness, with many different points of views." He kept shuffling between different disorganized papers.

I frowned, "I thought you said you were explaining it!?"

"Wow, you don't even get that!?" He remarked.

"Oh be quiet."

"I mean I'd think you'd be able to at least get this!" He continued.

"Derek!"

"I'm just kidding," he said, playfully nudging my arm.

"So?"

He ran his hand down one of the pages of a leather bound book as he spoke. "Leila, this riddle is about you and Thanatos."

I sighed, "I figured that much. But what about us?"

"It's saying that... Be careful, Leila." He replied.

"Be careful...?"

"You may be the one said to defeat Thanatos, but darkness itself is the enemy. Seems to me like that's what this is saying. So be careful. Control is the most important thing, though I suppose Sam has already filled your head with that." He said. "I researched the origin of your name. Leila means dark, Uri means light. That's not a coincidence."

"My name? It has to be a coincidence, Derek there's no way that I was named with that in mind, and of course my last name has been my parent's before me..."

"Things don't happen by accident, thinking that way is stupid." He stated. "Everyone's name has meaning, it was all to happen for a reason."

"You don't believe in accidents?" I asked. "Like If I trip and fall then break a plate, it wasn't an accident?"

"Nope." He replied.

"But why would I do that on purpose?!" I exclaimed.

"I didn't say it was on purpose, I just said it wasn't an accident." He said, smirking. I shook my head.

"That doesn't..." I sighed. "You're really confusing...."

"Thanks, I know." He said. "The point is whether or not you really become the hero here depends on what's in your heart, so be careful is all.

"Doesn't it give me any instructions?" I asked desperately.

"There are things here and there... I really haven't figured out everything..." He said quietly. "Honestly it tell you directly what to be here. The light in the dark, the calm in the storm, the peace in the war..." I don't know how... I thought.
