"Look how ugly she is." I heard people whispering. People's disgusting comments really didn't bother me anymore. Once they get thrown at you so much, you get used to it.
I kept walking until I made it to my table with my usual friends, Michael, Luke, and Ashton. we were considered the "punks" of all seniors.
I had long jet black hair, matching one of my best friends Michael. We got our hair done at the same time so we get it colored together too. Michael picked black, so I went with black.
I liked it though, it made my hair look shiny. As for Michael, a SnapBack of some sort was covering it up 99% of the time.
I sat down by my only friends. We had a tight circle of friends. Being friends with boys is way easier and less drama then girls.
Most girls liked the new Bruno Mars song or some crap but we were more into Green Day, Blink-182, and All Time Low. No one else really liked those kind of bands in our school.
People probably think that we go shopping together. We were all wearing black skinny jeans and combat boots but we had different shirts.
Michael had on a flannel, Luke had a regular grey t-shirt and black leather jacket on and Aston had a Pink Floyd shirt on. I had a Sum 41 shirt.
The rest of our school wore khakis and polos like we were in a private-uptight school. They also had their perfect dress shoes that I found very unattractive.
The other girls however wore high-heels and dresses, but occasionally skirts. It always creeped me out how they could walk in those.
We sat in the corner of the auditorium, away from all the jocks and cheerleaders. You can still hear jokes and rumors spat at us more often then not.
After the mere second of looking into the crowd into our school and thinking all of this, I turned my attention to the boys.
"Wanna come over today?" Ashton asked all of us.
"Yeah I'm down with it." I agreed.
"Sure." The rest of them chimed in.
After the small talk, I zoned out and was thinking. The boys kept talking like they had new gossip to pass around. I thought and thought about why.
"Why me who gets picked on. Why me who always gets downgraded. Why me who-" then the bell rudely interrupted my thinking process.
I grabbed my backpack and rushed to my locker.
"You seem quieter then usual." Ash said approaching my locker.
"I dunno. I feel just... out of it."
"Well, hope you feel better because your going down in Call of Duty tonight.
"Oh, really? We will see about that." I replied walking into my first hour class.
My first hour class was Language Arts, which was also my favorite. Our teacher was Ashton's mom, Mrs.Irwin.
We usually got to class relatively early so we are able to talk. We end up talking to each other, seeing the fact we don't have many friends.
The only thing I dread about this class, Tyler Smith and Katie Bowen. They were considered West Coast High royalty, from their families being rich and being perfect from top to bottom.
Their names were never spoke of in a negative way. Unfortunately, Mia Hernandez, Michael Clifford, Ashton Irwin, and Luke Hemmings were the ones being poorly talked about.
The boys didn't mind but I still had feelings. I never was popular, so it wasn't a surprise when I was labeled as an "outcast."
Ashton was talking about some new froyo place someone's opening up down the street, but I zoned him out until the second bell rang.
***
I sat in our usual spot in the lunch room, in the back corner. After a couple of minutes, I was joined by my other friends."Hey, wanna ditch my house and go to the new froyo place I was talking about?" Ashton asked me.
"Umm, yeah sure." I replied uneasy. I wasn't a person who really went out in public other than school.
I started to eat my sandwich that I packed as a lunch but I felt something hit the side of my head. I looked over to see the "popular" table laughing and pointing at me.
It was just a spitball, noting really that big, or that funny. I just ignored it until it kept happening again and again.
I looked over and of course, Katie Bowen was the one blowing the spitballs. I also saw their friend, Calum Hood.
He was the "goody-two shoes" out of the popular kids. He was really smart, but everyone saw him as really cute, so he was considered popular.
I never talked to him, but he seems like a really nice guy, just stuck in this shitty high school with lots of shitty people surrounding him.
After I ignored the popular preps, they stopped after a couple of minutes, thank the lord. I got involved in the conversation Ash and Luke were having about what they would do if they could ditch this whole school.
"I would go to New York and try to be a big time selling artist." Luke sipped from his chocolate milk.
"I would go to Florida and wrestle alligators."
"Wait, what the hell?" I laughed.
"Seems fun." Ashton shrugged.
***
After school, I jumped into Ash's passenger seat, excited for the cold froyo on this hot summer day.He turned the air conditioning on, and man did it feel good. We screamed lyrics to All Time Low's song Don't You Go.
We got to the froyo place in less then 5 minutes, running into it with enjoyment of a huge bowl of cold heaven.
The walls were packed with different toppings from gummy bears to Oreo's. The other wall was packed with all different flavors of froyo.
I picked the mint chocolate chip and Ashton got a Cookies N' Cream flavor. I loaded Oreo's, sprinkles, gummy bears, and waffle cone on mine. Ashton kept his plain, just Cookies N' Cream.
I paid for both of ours since he brought me here in the first place. The total was $5.63 which was cheap for how big the bowls were.
We sat at a table inside, not wanting to go back outside and sweat some more. We were almost done but then a group walked in.
A group of dress shoes and high heels.
"Freaks." someone said as they passed our table to get to the bowls and froyo. They all got their froyo and at the end of their line of popular bitches, Calum was there.
He looked lost, like he didn't belong with them.
As the group walked past again, Katie "accidentally" hit me in the back of the head with her big ass Gucci purse.
"Oh, I'm sorry... Nevermind, no I'm not." She cackled and kept leading her clique outside the froyo's front door.
