Happy New Year!
Even if this isn't the exact same violin that he had back then, just looking at the instrument upon his hand feels almost nostalgic. Has it been this long since he's held anything that's not the Yamato?
Despite that, the weight of the instrument does not feel alien to him in any shape or form. It's like greeting an old friend whose bond remained ironclad even with the sands of time doing its work.
Perhaps it wouldn't hurt to stay away from the irritating hunt for his brother, if for a little while. He doesn't doubt his brother's ability to handle himself in a fight. Though, hopefully he doesn't have to drag him out of any mess he creates, be it demon-related or no.
The day his twin brother has to drag him out of his own mess is the day he'll admit defeat.
No, his fight against Nero didn't count. He was exhausted from fighting his twin brother while he was still fresh. It was an attempt to get him to listen more than a true no-holds-barred beatdown.
Still, it is something he's had to be thankful for, as he's the main reason why they're currently not trying to stab each other to death.
Hmm, he's always fought his brother over some things now didn't he? Between his pranks, stealing that piece of chocolate cake...Yet, all of it was just childish innocence, as typical siblings.
All that ended when they tried to kill each other, starting at that tower. While neither he nor Dante have any room to speak about family dynamics, anyone with a brain can tell they don't exactly have the healthiest of relationships.
Though, even if it's a low bar to cross, at least their familial relationships are better than a certain House in Westeros whose main insignia is a lion.
Vergil's eye twitches at the thought of that momentary comparison. If there's one thing their father did right over the patriarch of the Lannisters, it's giving them the tools to survive in the Underworld and treated him alongside Dante with kindness and consideration during what little stay he had instead of forcing them to act in the way he liked.
Sparda truly had power, and he didn't need to rely on overbearing fear to show his point.
"Oh, we meet again, Mister!" Opening his eyes, he looks upward and sees the blond haired girl from earlier.
"Thank you for showing me the way here. Your performance with the violin is impressive indeed." She says with a clap of her hands. Vergil says naught a word, but gives a small nod of his head in acknowledgement.
Performing in front of a crowd gives off an...odd feeling that's hard to describe. It's not bad per se, though it's hardly something he'll call good either. He'll leave all the showing off to his younger twin. Despite never having done this prior to now, he doesn't feel his heart skipping a beat nor does he feel like he's heating up underneath his clothes. The fear of disappointment is absent from him.
He looks ahead, his icy demeanor never changing.
Meanwhile...
Even with the chilly weather, the crowd isn't to be denied their performance. Many a musically talented person or group has come here with the explicit chance to perform.
Apparently, they've hired someone to be the emcee of this number, though none of them have found out the person in question yet.
"I must say, the crowd is quite large." A certain blond bassist from Pastel*Palettes note with a graceful smile upon her beautiful face. Her amethyst eyes are almost relaxed and serene, contrasting the frenzy of the crowd before her.
