Song: Christina Perri - the words

Let my love be the light that guides you home.

Door unlocking, hands fumbling with the doorknob, pushing and very close to falling was how the scene before them was taking place.

A dinner that started slow and timid because God knows Grier will always be her shy self when around Mr. Confident. Niall will always be that force to be reckon with while Grier will not be the damsel in distress but the quiet, strategic cowgirl at his side. A fast gun when need be, take a stand when he's wrongly accused. Always be apart of him, no matter what happens between them, it will always be two hands, fingers interlocked, tight grip on each other, never letting go. If the boat sinks, they sink with it, and together.

...

Gentle kisses, hands cupping her face as he smiles into the kiss. His hands dropped below her butt, behind her thighs he squeezed before picking her up. Legs immediately wrapping around his waist as he kicks the door shut with his foot. She spoke things to him as she stared into his eyes, her tiny hands caressed his cheeks. Fingers running through his hair and along his lips. Small pecks to his face as he walked them to the couch.

"I'm deeply in love with you, Niall." A bit tipsy but she meant those words. Her knees on either side of his waist, holding her waist softly, kissing her jaw slowly. "I'm madly in love with you, Grier," he said in between kisses. A perfect, full kiss on every part of her jaw, no halfs or barleys, he kissed her just right. His lips soft, unspoken words were like stamps when he kissed her, filled with words he rather show then wait and say them, maybe later. But for now, it was meant to be felt, what he felt for her needed to be felt by her.

Pushing at his chest gently, licking her lips, she spoke to him quietly, "do you wanna dance with me?" Pecking her on the lips one more time, a deep pink, not yet red, he giggled. "Dance?" She nodded, taking his hands in her own, on her lap, she stared down at them. "Do you want to?" Leaning over, he turned her ipod on, already connected to the dock and everything, he slowly pushed her off him. On her feet, his body rising with hers. "Can I have this dance?" "Yes." They walked to the middle of the living room and began moving slowly.

Piano keys could be heard first, they hit the brick walls in the apartment and made a smile appear on both their faces. Her head on his chest, moving side to side as the song consumed their bodies. His right hand on the small of her back, left covering hers as it lay on his collarbone.

And I know that the scariest part is letting go.

"Niall, if anything ever happens between us, will you let me go?" They moved in circles around the room, he tensed at that question, not seeing it, he hesitated on his feet.

Wanting to scream at her, tell her to never say things like that, but he had found that with Grier, serious topics like these hit home, she was afraid of her parents situation happening to them. You can reassure someone so many times before it sets in and they finally feel safe but it wasn't gonna happen quickly. Grier made Niall think about things that hurt to think about, just to imagine it, but he held himself together, because all she wanted was that same reassurance and a simple answer.

"Like what, baby?" Feeling the squeeze of his hand on hers, she sighed, "like, we grow apart, will you let me go?" He had her in a protective hold, those words scared him, these thoughts of hers, scared him, but also brought him realization, it could happen. "If it was a matter of you being happy, and it meant me not being there, then yes, I'd let you go." Her face rose with his words, her hand on his cheek. "Wherever you are, that's where I wanna be. You're my home, my happiness. Got it?"

        "Yes."

        "Good, now kiss me."

His smile returned, now bigger. He enjoyed the talks they had, comical or serious, it didn't matter, he just knew they were getting closer.

...

"I'm gonna have a bruise in a few minutes, just wait." She giggled as her hands ran through his chest hair; engulfing herself in his smell every now and again, it was delightful, a woodsy, warm vanilla, a very manly smell. She laughed every time she thought about that, enjoying someones scent never crossed her mind until she met him. Buried in their bed, under a bunch of pillows and the puffy duvet, he held her close. To him it was either coconut or candy, her scented body sprays sewn into the fibers of his clothing. Her hair being kissed, his nose snuggling into it and smelling her pomegranate and wild berries shampoo. It was heaven.

"I didn't spank you that hard, little liar." She licked his nose, he crinkled it, taking her by surprise and pinning her underneath him. She screamed, giggling and pleading to be let free, he continued his assault on her sides, tickling until she couldn't take no more.

...

Calm breaths flowed through the master, looking up at the ceiling together, pointing out designs in the wood like constellations in the night sky.

"Would you let me go?" he whispered.

Her hands immediately covered her face, shaking her head. "I wouldnt want to," coming out in a shaky voice. Bringing her closer to him, soothing her, his hand moving up and down her back. "I'm sorry. I'd be so selfish, I'm so sorry," she could barely get the words out. He would do anything to make her happy, including letting her go and here she was, holding on.

Bringing her face to meet his, he spoke to her calmly, taking her hand, "listen to me, you're not selfish, you're in love and so am I, and as of right now, no one is letting go. Got it?" She leaned forward and kissed him for a long time, crying after she released him. "Got it."

"I won't let you go, Jack." His head ducked and he chuckled at that. "Promise, Rose?"

"Promise." Kissing her nose, he snuggled into the crook of her neck and smiled as he kissed her soft skin. "I still think she could've moved over and let Jack on the door, they fit." He smiled at that and went back to giving her love bites that she would scold him for later.

And I know that the scariest part is letting go.
