"Come on, Benny, lets go wake up, Daddy." He barked in agreement. They moved towards the bedroom, door slowly opening as she pushed ever so gently on it. White bedding covering his waist and down, torso exposed and beautiful in the morning light. The sun came in through the windows on the left side of the room, a stream of lines would be illuminated across his stomach, yellows and reds painted on him. Millie lay to his side, all balled up and cozy as she purred and Niall snored lightly.

"Millie, Niall, time to wake up, lazy-heads." She shook the furry ball of grey and blacks gently. She received a meow and the cute little kitten began to stretch. Looking up at Grier, then towards Niall, little paws walking along the bed. Purring into his ear, nuzzling her forehead against his hair, Grier giggled as she watched Millie try to wake Niall up. "Niall, darling," she cooed. Sitting down on the bed as he slowly began to wake.

Benny lay on the shag rug on the side of the bed, waiting for Grier to wake Niall. She stared into Benny's eyes, blue, beautiful since he was a puppy. Two pairs of blue eyes and one pair of green under the same roof as she, the colors that she woke to every morning were marvelous to her. A world of color and she hoped to never go blind.

Leaning down, her hand scooping up the tiny kitten. She leaned down, a kiss on Niall's lips, his body moving with it, following her lips as they left his, on his elbows now, he rubbed his eyes. Awake and smiling, he greeted her, and what a beautiful site she was: kitten in hand, hair in a braid, lips a light pink, relaxed, and beautiful.

"Sleep okay?" He watched her finger circle Millie's tummy, fur in a spiral of colors as Grier traced it. "Very well, thank you." Smiling down at him, his fingers pulling on the kittens little paws as she meowed at him, Grier giggled.

...

She stared out the window, mug in hand, people walking along the sidewalk. Hands joined together, leashes in others, some alone, either way they walked and they started their day as she.

His blue jeans hugged him well, along with a striped black and white shirt adorning his torso, his body walked into the kitchen as she poured him some coffee. A dark grey baker boy cap with a dark navy jacket brought a smile to settle on her face. Ever since they got into watching Peaky Blinders, he couldn't stop thinking about those caps they wore, had to have one. "What?" Mug to his lips, he spoke to her, waiting for her to reveal what was on her mind. She shook her head, "nothing." Looking back down at her coffee, moving the fork back and forth along her plate. "Sure, little liar." That earned him a wrinkled nose and her tongue to stick out at him. He chuckled at that.

...

"Have you thought of a title?" he asked as he finished putting on his boots.

Undoing the braid, hair falling along her shoulders in waves. She looked up from her seated position on the weaved swing, nodding, "yes." He picked up his phone from the coffee table and placed it into the pocket of his jeans, mentally thinking what he was forgetting before he left for the studio. "And..." he dragged the word on, neck out and hinting at what she was teasing him about. Black flats in the air as she swung backwards and forwards, legs flailing as he grabbed her ankle. "Its a surprise." She stood up, pulling up her maroon pants, a white t-shirt with lace detailing being fixed. "Oh c'mon!" She shook her head, "nope." Giggling as she grabbed her black peacoat, over her arm it settled as she said goodbye to Benny and Millie.

"Please..." he begged her, holding her hand as they walked down the stairs together. "Fine," she huffed, slightly smiling. As they waited for a taxi outside their apartment building she spoke, "Its called, Crystal Umbrellas." His arm wrapped around her side, pulling her closer towards him, he thought about those words she just spoke to him. Guitar case clung to his right shoulder, staring out towards the apartments in front of them. "There's a poem in the book that goes..."

You can see the rain, but the drops never touch you.

The tears never fall.

The cracks are so small,

beautiful crystal,

sharp edges.

You can feel the thunder, but the glass never breaks around you.

        "I like it," he said.

        "Me too," she said.

He kissed her, opening the door to the taxi, "I'll see you for lunch?" She kissed his cheek, "of course." Getting into the taxi, going to a meeting at the publishing house that took in her book and gave it a beautiful home. He shut the door behind her, waving and smiling as the car got smaller down the road.
