JULY 2ND 1994
"Are you sure you don't want to put on a dress for this?"
Emma scoffed for what seemed like the tenth time since Harry had stepped foot in her room. "Stop acting like this is anything special. It's not." She simply replied.
"I'm sorry mate, I can't help it, this is just too fun to watch!" Harry laughed. He was laying on Emma's bed, watching her get ready to go have drinks with Liam.
"I can't think of a single reason why." Emma mumbled.
"I want to hear everything about it tomorrow." Harry demanded, swifting positions so that he'd be laying on his stomach. His feet were perfectly placed so as to not stink up the girl's pillow.
Emma rolled her eyes. "Nothing's gonna happen, you know." She said but when Harry gave her a look, she backtracked. "Nothing that hasn't already happened, that is."
Come to think of it, Emma had no clue what to expect from this night out. Liam hadn't been explicit about anything other than their meeting spot so could she really be certain about what she was saying to Harry?
Either way, she wanted to appear sure of herself in front of her best friend. She didn't need him thinking that she didn't know what she was doing getting involved with Liam, even though she thought she did. Because she totally did.
Right?
"I know what I'm doing." Emma blurted out as she put on her belt with doubtful fingers. She hoped she sounded confident.
Harry's eyebrows shot up instantly. "Right now or in general?"
Neither?
"Both." The girl replied.

Emma didn't expect Liam to be on time, he didn't strike her as that kind of person. This knowledge didn't make the half hour she spent waiting for him at the bar any less boring, though.
What she definitely didn't expect was to feel two arm snake around her waist, giving her the closest thing to a heart attack she'd experience at least in the first thirty years of her life. She got so frightened she almost spilled her lager all over the floor.
"Drinking without me, I see." Liam smirked, taking a seat next to her.
Emma gave him a seriously? kind of look. That was rich coming from him because judging by the way he giggled to himself as he sat down, he wasn't entirely sober himself. "Have you seen yeself, you prick?" She chuckled.
