I knew he was lying to me, but I didn't say anything. I didn't want to bring it up either, as I didn't want to push him if he didn't want to.

I cleaned the last drop of blood off of him. We spent the rest of the afternoon together laughing and joking around.

"How is the cut?" Aonung asked as we sat at the beach. "I've had worse." I chuckled.

"You? Have you had worse?" He joked, not believing me. "What? I'm telling the truth!" I playfully hit him in the arm, but when he hissed, I apologised.

I was confused as he started laughing but then realised it was the other arm.

"Idiot." I muttered under my breath. "What was that?" He asked. "Nothing!" I giggled.

I stood up. "Wanna race to the big rock?" I asked and went to help him up.

"Sure," he took my hand to get up, even though he could get up himself.

"Alright." Before he was fully up, I took off running and giggling.

"Hey!" He yelled before chasing after me.

We jumped in the water and swam to the rock. I got there first and waited for him.

He got there too, and we looked over the ocean.

But we had to cut it short as I remembered that I had promised Tuk I'll have a fashion show with her.

I got to our mauri, and Tuk was already waiting for me. "Ava! There you are." She exclaimed excitedly.

I laughed at her silliness. That's what's making her unique. She can always make even the most serious moments into happy ones with her silliness.

"Here I am!" I smiled as she dragged me towards a pile of tops.

After a few tops, mom and Kiri also joined us. We all joked around. Mostly, Kiri and Tuk teasing me about Aonung.

When the tops were all tried on, we started making dinner.

"Avyanna. Come here for a second." Dad said from the opening of the mauri.

I stood up and went to him. We walked out of the mauri. "Yes, dad?" I asked.

He sighed before asking, "What happened today?". I looked at him, curious. "What do you mean?" I asked.

"Tonowari told me that he saw you returning Aonung home. And he was bloody. I'm not mad. I just want to know why he even was bloody." He told me softly.

Mom has also joined us. "Aonung and Rotxo got into a fight, and I tried to break it up." I told them.

"Is that why you have that cut on the lip?" Mom asked, looking at my broken lip.

"No. That I got when I fell in the forest." I told her. She nodded with an  understanding smile.

"Why did you fall in the forest?" Dad asked. Gosh, I love him, but sometimes he asks too many questions.

"It was slippy." I replied to his question. He nodded before leaving me alone with the questions.

Mom then told us we could come to eat.

The next day, I was swimming with Neteyam and Kiri. Well, Kiri was in her own world.

I was laughing with Neteyam when he went quiet. He was staring at something behind me.

Curious, I turned to look at what he was looking at, but I wish I hadn't.

Aonung. He was having a rather lovely moment with someone. My smile faded quickly.

I felt Neteyam put his hand on my shoulder. "I'm sorry." He said.

"How could he do this?" I asked, my voice breaking a bit. "I don't know, but im gonna show him what he deserves," He said angrily.

Before I could proceed, what he meant by it, he was already gone. He barged at Aonung, his fist meeting his eye.

I gasped. As Neteyam launched another hit, I rushed over there. I yelled at them to stop, but the girl pushed me away.

"Don't touch me!" I hissed at her. She hissed at me. She then stormed off.

I went back to breaking up my brother and Aonung.

"Stop! Please stop!" I yelled, pulling Neteyam off of Aonung.

"Stop! Beating him up won't solve anything!" I yelled at Neteyam.

"But he hurt you!" He argued. "It still won't solve anything!" I argued back.

I turned to Aonung, "you okay?" I asked. "Yea." He nodded. "Good." I mumbled before slapping him.

I grabbed both of them by the ear and dragged them back towards the village. I was passed off at both of them.

I let go of Neteyams ear at our mauri and told him to wait there. I then dragged Aonung to his mauri.

"Why?" Was the only thing I asked. "I'm sorry. She came out of nowhere and suddenly kissed me. I promise you I don't know her!" He pleaded.

I shook my head, wanting to believe him. "Please, let me explain!" He begged.

"I'll give you five minutes." I told him.
