The doctors told me Lando had left the hospital. He had been discharged and left without many complaints. And based on what Valerie had told me, I actually feel somehow relieved that he is gone now.

But when the room was only occupied by my own presence, it was only him who I was when I closed my eyes. The way his face fell when I asked him who he was and how he easily accepted his defeat.

If he really was my boyfriend, why accept this faith so quickly?

A knock on the door interrupts the silence; I look up and see a nurse walk in with a smile on his face, "How are you feeling, Aurora?" he asks.

"Tired," I reply. "And like I am dreaming. As if this is not real."

The nurse nods sympathetically, "It's completely normal to feel that way, especially after the crash's huge impact on you. Just take your time to adjust, and if you need anything, don't hesitate to ask."

In return, I offer a weak smile, "Thank you," I try to swallow the lump slowly forming in my throat. "Any news on the other driver?"

"He is still in a coma," The nurse replies. "The police took statements from Lando and obviously had the lab results from the other driver. But I am not sure what Lando plans to do with them."

"Thank you," I say, and the nurse leaves the room again.

The room envelopes in heavy silence, but my head is a chaotic mess. I want to piece everything together. I want to know what happened in the past five years, but I can only trust my feelings right now.

"Hi, Aurora," I recognize Caitlin's voice, and I give her a greeting smile. She carefully steps inside and looks around the room. "Are you alone?"

"Yeah, my parents left to get freshened up at home."

She nods, "Can I come in? The last time was a bit chaotic."

"It is confusing for me when you're accusing my best friend of horrible acts," I try to explain. "And I know that right now, you have five years more of memories than I have, but I have to get through the day with what I do know."

Caitlin sits down on a chair next to my bed, "I understand, really. But I have proof."

"Proof? You have proof of Lando hitting me?"

Caitlin's eyes widen, and she shakes her head rapidly, "There are a few things Lando hits," she says. "Steering wheels, the air, sometimes a mosquito, but not you. Never you."
