The results of the criminal case against the drunk driver took four weeks. In those weeks, even more, little memories reappeared for Aurora. By now, there were more memories than empty places, and those that were empty were explained by either Lando, Caitlin, or Carmen.

They hold each other's hands when walking inside the courtroom, having said that no matter what the results are, at least they still have each other. They found their way back, and no one was going to split them up again.

"Welcome to the verdict of the case, Mr. Dupent v Belgian constitutional state," the judge said, opening the hearing with a sof tick of her hammer. "I would like to keep this short and clean today."

The couple takes place in the second row, not wanting too much attention; they have gotten that enough. Today's focus is to forgive and move on.

Aurora translates again for Lando, softly whispering what was going on.

"In the seriousness of the case, although no deaths occurred, that could have happened. I sentence Mr. Dupent to a driving ban of the lawful maximum of five years, with a fine of €7500 and damages to the victims of €5000 each. If Mr. Dupent needs to retake his driving tests if he wants to drive again."

Lando nods when Aurora translates the sentence to him, "That's good, right?"

"It is. Prison time is rarely given, especially since no one died," she explained, receiving another nod from the Brit.

The money was never an issue; both Lando and Aurora were insured enough not to get a large hospital bill, and the car would either go on the driver's insurance or McLaren would fix it.

"If you can not pay, someone will help sort out the costs. If you are caught driving within those five years, you will risk a permanent ban and a prison sentence of up to two years, and other fine," the judge continues. "Is the sentence and the additional information clear for the defendant."

Mr. Dupent stands up, "They are clear, Your Honor. And if I may, I would like to apologize sincerely to Mr. Norris and Mrs. Banks."

The judge gestures to him to go for it, which makes him turn around; his facial expression carries heavy regret.

"I am truly sorry for the accident," he begins. "I shouldn't have been on that road; I should've been driving that night. I messed up your lives, and I am sorry for that."

The couple nods, acknowledging his words, but they are too stunned to say something back. In the entirety of the time this had taken, the drunk driver never offered his apologies.

"I hope you learned from it," Aurora suddenly says, finding her words. "We're lucky to be alive because not only you could've killed us, you could've killed yourself, too."

"I know," Mr. Dupent replies. "I learned."

She smiles and nods, and Lando gently squeezes her hand in a form of appreciation, a form of support in her words. After today, they can finally let go of the accident and the legal actions. So, when the judge finalizes the verdict and tells everyone to go, they let out a deep sigh together.

"Alright," Lando says softly. "That's it."

"That's it," Aurora repeats.

It was only a few more weeks before Lando had to report for duty again at McLaren. The testing weekend was nearing, and for the car review, Lando had already traveled back and forth to London.

But he didn't want to start his next season without having asked Aurora the specific question again. He knew he had to; he just wasn't as sure anymore about her response.

"Why are we going here again?" Aurora asked as she looked at the location were Lando parked his car. "I know we've been doing a lot of trips down memory lane, but this one is not one for the books now, is it?"

The Brit chuckled, "Oh, come on, the night was beautiful. I even dare to say it was perfect. The ending was just disastrous."

Aurora nodded in agreement; she couldn't hide the wide smile on her lips as she recognized the place where Lando had asked her to marry him. Wondering if he was going to ask her again. "Did you bring food?"

"No, why would I?"

"We were having a picnic..." She says but suddenly doubts her own memory. "Right?"

Lando chuckles and nods, "Yeah, no, we did. We had some snacks."

They walk around the car, and the memory of that night slowly comes back to the Belgian. She glances at Lando, who seems to lead her to a rather specific spot.

"Lan," she starts, wondering if he is going to do what she thinks he might, but Lando interrupts her with a playful grin.

"Just humor me, okay?" He stops at the exact stop where he had proposed to her before. "I know things haven't been easy these past 8 months, but I can't thank you enough for trusting me to let you fall back in love with me."

Aurora feels a lump in her throat as she watches Lando get down on one knee, just like he had done before. Her eyes well up with tears, and the smile on her lips only widens.

"I want nothing more than to spend the rest of my life with you and to make more new memories with you. So, here I am, asking you once again... Do you want to marry me?"

He has the same little box with the same ring inside it, and he shows it to Aurora.

"Yes!" She nods and pulls Lando up from the ground. "Yes, of course, you goofball."

Lando's face lits up as he slides the ring, this time the perfect size, around his fiancée's finger. He gently cups her cheek and kisses her lips in a gentle kiss.

"We're going to make it perfect," he promises.

"With you, it is already perfect," Aurora replies. "I don't need anyone else but you."

"And you've got all of me," Lando kisses the top of her head. "Je suis tout à toi."

Aurora's face lits up, "And I am all yours, too."
